Thai movie ตุ๊ดตู่กู้ชาติ / The Last Heroes was released in year 2018 and lasts 2h07mn. Taking place during the Ayutthaya kingdom period, villagers are gathering following a call from the village leader. The village features many transvestites. The village leader requires help from villagers to help the nation against the Burmese army. They refuse as they are afraid to die. Finally, seven villagers accept to join, including Deuan (Koeti Aramboy), Feng (Mum Jokmok), Krang, Krai, ติ๊ก กลิ่นสี, จิ้ม ชวนชื่น. The village leader (Suchao Pongwilai) assigns a master to train them. After a difficult training, they are ready for fighting. They leave the village towards the jungle. They face and defeat some Burmese soldiers. Disguised as Burmese soldiers, they enter the Burmese camp. Krang loses his girlfriend being killed by Burmese soldiers. They are missing their relatives in the village. Krai, being upset, shoots a few soldiers with his arrows, but gets captured. The team arrives in the Burmese king palace. They wear ladies’ clothes. They are finally uncovered and arrested by Burmese soldiers. Meanwhile the Burmese army goes towards the Thai village to crunch it. Thanks to the help of a Thai princess and a Thai monk held in the Burmese king palace, the team succeed in escaping following a daring escape from the Burmese palace. They are back on time to save the village, but most of them die like heroes. This movie is mixing comedy and action into an historical background.

Taking profit of ongoing confusion due to war, bandits (เสือ) are committing robberies all over Thailand. Police officer Khunphan (Ananda Everingham) and his men are on the way to neutralise a gang. They fall into an ambush and all of his men are shot. Local sub-district headman doesn't help Khunphan and his men. Khunphan cannot be killed by bullets as a monk made special tattoos for him. Through correct behaviour and prayers to Buddha, tattoos are effective. Seeing the sub-district headman's men keeping the money stolen by the bandits, a conflict happens and Khunphan has to shoot him. Following the death of all his men and the sub-district headman's death, Khunphan has to stop being a policeman for a while (พักราชการ). Suchao Pongwilai is head of police. Some ruffians perform a rampage in a village killing many targeted policemen. They belong to Seua Fai's group. Khunphan is checking why as the killed policemen are only small grade policemen. As Khunphan cannot help officially as he is no longer a policeman, he decides to infiltrate Seua Fai's group. Khunphan has to cut his moustache. Seua Fai is a famous ruffians' leader and his right hand is Seua Bai. Villagers protect them as they always redistribute money to them (นับถือโจร). A new police inspector (สารวัตร) Uui is nominated in Suphanburi. Phi Bai (อารักษ์ อมรศุภศิริ) steals money from Japanese train. They are captured by Japanese soldiers. Khunphan, by making himself invisible through incantations, helps Seua Bai and his men. Multiple bandits leaders (เสือ) are fighting each other as some enter politics. Khunphan follows Seua Bai and his men but they are not aware. Khunphan goes to Suphanburi and finally meets Seua Bai in a cafe owned by lady รัชวิน วงศ์วิริยะ. New police inspector Uui threatens them. Khunphan joins Seua Fai and robberies are performed. Through a special ceremony, they promise to support each other with Bai and Fai (พันเอกวันชนะ สวัสดี). Khunpan (ไอ้เสือบุตร) is part of the gang now (สายเลือดเดี่ยวกัน). Fai is shot in an ambush set up by Pao Porapak and survives. During a retaliation, a test for Khunphan is to kill policeman. He shoots him in the jaw. During an unfortunate accident, Uui gets seriously burnt and his body is disfigured. He is now wearing a mask and promises himself to get revenge towards Seua Fai and his men. Money redistribution is done towards poorer villagers. Khunphan gives the location of the camp to police head and asks him not to use strong force to catch them. Bai's girlfriend (อาภา ภาวิไล) is captured and used as bait to bring Bai and Khunphan. Khunphan has to disclose he is a policeman. Behind it is the disfigured policeman looking for revenge. Head of police is friends with Seua Fai. Seua Fai betrays Bai as he has no choice. He shoots both Bai and Khunphan. Through a Buddhist ceremony, bullets exit Bai’s body. Bai accepts to help Khunphan. Policemen were killed as they discovered a business to transform land titles. Seua Fai is killed by disfigured policeman. He uses his skin tattooed as additional protection. Bai and Khunphan now need to neutralize the disfigured policeman. It is not over as Khunphan still needs to find proofs against the corrupted head of police...

Thai movie ม้ง สงครามวีรบุรุษ (Hmong, blood for freedom) was released in year 2012. It is based on real facts in years 1962-1965. Mountain people (แมว / ชาวโมง) are harassed by ruffians (เจ้าหน้าที่). Their leader is Kamnan Saeng (Rith Luecha). Militaries (Sorapong Chatree,Nard Poowanai,Suchao Pongwilai) are worried by Communist influence. Thai soldiers attack a village believing there are communists inside (ใครเป็นชาวบ้านใครเป็นcommunist). For many soldiers, those mountain people have no value except for Sorapong. Bin Banleurit as soldier is shot by the mountain leader, who is also shot. Sorapong takes responsibility of the mountain leader's son. The mountain leader is only injured and joined the communist resistance (สหาย). His young daughter also joins him. Bin's helicopter is shot down. 15 years have passed. Keng (mountain leader’s son) and Aya (Bin’s daughter) are now adults. Ken asks Sorapong to perform his duty as Thai soldier in the mountains area. Sorapong is reluctant as he could face former former relatives. Which side would Keng choose (ทรยศแผ่นดินไทย)? Finally he lets him go. Aya and her students friends are captured while trying to find the remaining of her father's helicopter in the forest. While dispatched by helicopter on zone, Keng is captured. His real father remembers the pendant he gave him 15 years ago. Keng helps Aya to find the helicopter of his father and to perform proper Buddhist ceremony with the body remains. Keng's brother, who is a policeman, extracts him from the tribal village. Keng is back in Thai army. A government amnesty is given to all who joined the guerilla war. Hardcore communist members hesitate to surrender. Keng is looking for his father and sister. Other guerilla members don't trust Keng, who is a Thai soldier. Finally Thai soldiers attack the village. Keng's sister is killed and the father is injured. The guerilla is defeated. While raising the Thai flag, one Hmong tribe member shots Thai soldiers causing the Thai flag to fall. Keng prevents the Thai flag to hit the soil but gets deadly injured. He makes his father promises to stop fighting. This nationalist trend movie with many Thai stars from 1970s recalls movies from this era with stress on Monarchy and sacrifice to protect Thai Nation.

Mike wishes to enter the fighting fish contest in order to gain 1.3M baht and help to cure Toon. The opponent is a strong fighter called Mad Dog. Same as Siamese fighting fishes contest, the rule is that the loser is killed after the fight is over. Yo asks to join to protect Mike as it is a deadly fight. He replaces Mike and gets defeated by Mad Dog. On the verge to be executed by the mafia thugs, he fights back and flees. Unfortunately Toon is kidnapped by the mafia. Mike and Yo has to rescue Toon from the mafia led by Suchao. Following impressive fightings, the mafia and its leader are defeated by Mike and Yo but Mike dies while protecting Yo and Toon.

Tee Rifle is a hitman. He is shy with ladies. He likes to walk or run around Bangkok even passing by the Red Shirts barricades! As he is a hitman, he likes to wear wick to change his appearance. The gym dance teacher has arguments with her father regarding green and purple clothes colors. Her father is the political leader of the Green Shirts. There is sarcastic irony and allusion from director Yuthlert Sippapak regarding the Yellow and Red Shirts fights in Thai modern politics. With Tee Rifle, the hitman symbol is demystified as he feels guilty each time (รู้สึกผิดทุกที่). Tee Rifle meets Chris in a bar and presents himself as Mark. Tee Rifle is hired for a new job. He shall shoot all the green leaders including Chris’ father. A second medicine fails to recover his little bird (ฉันไม่ใช่กะเทยแต่ผู้ชายโชคร้าย). Political leaders use violence. Win hatred with hatred. Is it the solution to political problems? Brown, purple, green political parties. All leaders are shot by Tee Rifle. The next job is to shoot Chris! The hirer is the wife of Chris' boyfriend. Chris was not aware that her boyfriend was married already! She still meets Mark at the same usual bar and a friendship starts. Tee Rifle shots Chris’ boyfriend to close the dispute! Thanks to a good friend, Chris is aware that Tee Rifle shot her father so she wishes to take revenge. Tee Rifle is recruited for a new contract. The target has rent a hotel for his birthday. Chris knowing that the hitman will act and so she enrolls herself as a coyote dancer to be able to catch him. Seeing Chris dancing lively, Tee Rifle has a control crisis and cannot execute his job. Chris now knows that Tee rifle and Mark are the same man. Following some shooting into impressive unfinished 1997 villas, Mark succeed to escape from Chris. Chris finally catches him in a Christian church. She spares his life not because of love but because Thai politicians are the real responsible. Thailand would be a better place without politicians so as a hitman, she shoots all Thai politicians leaders! This movie mixes comedy and action. It also gives a strong social message regarding politicians that are judged responsible of the current mess in Thailand (Yellow Shirts versus Red Shirts). It features a funky soundtrack. “Saturday killer” is part of a trilogy including “Sunday Killer” and “Friday Killer”.

The undertaker is a professional former hitman, so he is impressed by the young men, who dared to shoot a famous mafia leader! They receive bone powder in the eyes so they all can see ghosts now. Thai singer ศุภักษร ไชยมงคล has a small cameo role. Pop has also a strange family. They get shot at night time by an angry man. Pop and his family were in fact already dead. Surrounded by ghosts, Ratree and the two boys must flee again. Ratree meets her boyfriend (ไปกับพี่ / ไปกับผี). He is already dead also. Following an accident, his head hurt a pillar while Ratree was driving. She had hidden the body inside the car trunk. Her boyfriend, wishing to take her back, causes her car to have an accident. Tan (แทน) is in coma state in hospital. He was severely beaten. He needed money to pay the caution for his brother Tai (ไท) to be released from prison. They are twin brothers. Due to Pang's debts to cure his brother, Tan is forced to accept a money deal to lose the final. Tai's condition is getting critical and a lot of money is needed to pay for an operation. Pang is worried Tai will end up like Tan. During a thrilling final, Tai's team wins and the man who injured Tan is defeated. But only Zing survives during the final game. This movie is another ghost comedy with Buddhist monks. This comedy includes visual gags, sonorous gags, witty riposte in dialogues. It is targeted for a rural audience public. This movie messages are related to gratitude (กตัญญ) over parents and to always try and never give up. It is a typical comedy movie of 2000s decade, i.e. quite pleasant to see (หายความเครียด) but immediately forgotten.

This movie takes place in 2022 eighteen years after the 2004 Tsunami. Three young people, i.e. Phu, Cindy and Phi Phi, are working with Dr Siam. The three young people participate to events and demonstrations to enhance population awareness regarding the worrying climate changes. Doctor Siam has lost his son during 2004 tsunami. Since he has worked on an alarm system to detect tsunami and earthquakes. Phu and Cindy are traumatised by 2004 tsunami events. In 2022, the climate has changed a lot. Thailand is no more safe regarding earthquakes. Three false alarms have been already raised by Dr Siam so the prime minister is in difficult position towards his coalition partner complaining that population evacuation hurts Thailand business. His main coalition partner wishes to replace the current prime minister and his son is a corrupted real estate investor only seeing his own interest. He is selling drugs also and wishes to expel Moken people from his paradise island. Nobody can stop him as he is the son of a politician. Rawai, a Moken, warns Dr Siam, regarding separations under the sea announcing underwater volcanoes explosions. Despite the danger Doctor Siam goes to his underwater lab to get important data and sacrifices his life. There is an urgent need to evacuate Bangkok due to coming 30m high tsunami waves. The mother nature takes revenge. The movie includes references to monarchy, Buddhism and Thai nation in a way similar to 1970s movies. Big earthquakes happen. Bangkok is submerged. The Prime minister is a modern politician capable of sacrifice for his nation and people. From his helicopter, he saves children from drowning but remains stranded on their school bus as the helicopter is overloaded already. A miracle happens as the giant Buddha statue in front of Bangkok gets detached from its pedestal, floats and gets the Prime Minister in its hand preventing him from drowning. The coalition partner dies as his luxury boat is overwhelmed by the huge waves (ความดีต้องชนะความชั่ว). The Doctor Siam body is wrapped into a Thai flag. The movie plays on the environmental and disaster films wave in 2009 (Home, 2012...). It has an environmental message that we all need to change our behavior to save the planet. It raises various issues (corrupted politicians, business interest versus citizen interest, sea-based Moken minority situation, society debauchery). Effective Fx are used but not good enough to make it believable.

This movie relates about a love story that failed to succeed 30 years ago. A young man is already married and following his best friend's departure for Japan, he has to look after his friend's fiancee. A love story happens between both. There are analogies with a two young men love story that are going to break up, this 30 years old love story and this love story with a new chance 30 years later. Based on misunderstanding and lack of effort or compromise, love stories can fail. One of the young men, Pakorn, is making a theater piece outline related to this love story. He is in fact the son of the older man and has done the theater piece following the older woman request. The love story magic happens again but his own love story fail as his lover died in a train accident. This movie includes colorful atmosphere of 1970s era.

This film is based on a story from Phra Aphai Mani, an epic poem by Sunthorn Phu. "Sudsakorn" is one of the best-known parts of the classic Thai epic poem. It was written by Thai poet Sunthorn Phu in the 1800s. A young boy is the son of a mermaid. He is sent on a mystical quest to find his father. The story was previously adapted in a Thai animated fantasy film, The Adventure of Sudsakorn (สุดสาคร). Released in 1979, it was the first and only Thai animated film until 2006 when the movie Khan Kluay (ก้านกล้วย) was released. Sudsakorn is raised in the ancient traditions of magic by his grandfather. He never knew his father. His mother, a mermaid, sends him on a quest to find his father. Armed with his grandfather's magical stick, Sudsakorn enters into mysterious worlds riding a half dragon - half horse. Sudsakorn encounters dangerous ghost creatures, faces an hermit who cheats him and steals his magical stick, fights against deadly vampire butterfly creatures, helps to defeat an army and finds his father. The film uses the very latest in special effects and has cost more than Bt80 million to make.

Mek (เมฆ) is a solitary hitman with no friends and no love. He still has a brother and a sick mother. One day he kidnaps a young man denouncing corruption but refuses to execute him as the young man is not an evil guy (ฆ่าคนเลวไม่ฆ่าคนดี). Following arguments with his boss, a shooting happens and Mek flees with his victim. As Mek gets injured and loses blood, he receives help from the young man called Iht (อิฐ). Mek has a bad childhood. Iht then takes care of him, cleans his shack and wipes his body. A love story starts between the two men. It reminds Iht of his own past when his mother was sick and couldn't leave home. She died because some thugs hindered him to come back on time to give her medicine. He still feels ashamed as he couldn't help his mother on time. The ruffians still wish to eliminate them but the first attempt fails. Iht's girlfriend, Sai, starts to notice modifications in Iht's behavior. Love emerges between the two men. There is a delicate representation of homosexual love far away from the Thai ladyboy (กะเทย) usual style. Mek feels ashamed of himself and chases Iht. Iht still tries to meet Mek (ผมคิดถึงคุณ) but fails to locate him as Mek is too shy. Sai suffers as she knows she losts her love with Iht. Finally Iht and Mek find each other and declare their strong passion. It is seen by both Sai and Mek's brother. Iht helped Mek's brother, Mok (หมอก) who was always bullied by others as he is HIV positive. The mother knows also the truth about Mek. A tragedy happens as the two brothers argue. The mother hangs herself. While bringing the mother to hospital, ruffians try to kill Mek again. His mother is shot and dies. Meanwhile Sai decides to separate with Iht. Thinking about taking revenge, she finally doesn't shoot him. The two brothers decide to leave for the countryside. Before Mek decides to take revenge over the ruffians. Iht, alerted by the younger brother try to find Mek. Mek performs a rampage at the ruffians' place but is then captured at the train station by the police. Iht is injured into the eyes while trying to look for Mek at the ruffians' place. He is now blind. Mok dies from decease. In 2575, Mek is released from prison and Iht is waiting. The movie has a dark ending at Mek is shot down. This film won a Subhannahongsa Award for best screenplay and went on screen at many film festivals in Europe and Asia. He is a old style Thai boxing expert. In Bangkok, he is getting the help from a teenage girl and a fellow coming from the same village. They are facing a dangerous gang specialized in stealing old Buddhist artifacts. It raises opposition between village life (peace, slowness, culture respect, local Buddhist traditional festivals, villagers unity...) and Bangkok city life (danger, drug, prostitution, gambling, materialism, foreigners...). This movie contains art martial scenes that Hong Kong movies can envy. It grossed 120 million baht in Thailand. "Ong Bak" has been awarded the Action Asia prize at France's Deauville Asian Film Festival. The Culture Ministry registers 25 Thai classic films each year at the National Film Heritage Registry. This movie is part of the 25 films heritage list announced on 04 October 2015, which is Thai Movies Conservation Day.

It depicts a well-to-do Thai-Chinese businessman called Mongkol, his wife, two daughters and son. Things go wrong when two Burmese immigrants hired by the family to do household work get into a fight with his son. They are arrested, but escape from the police and return to the family's house. There they kill the daughter and attack the remaining family members. Dang, a homeless man, witnesses the entire thing. Dang comes from a troubled past, his father was a police captain who was drunkard. His mother's lover subsequently murdered Dang's family. Dang, shocked by the event, became mad and started wondering the streets. As he witnesses the immigrants attack the family, he has his own uncontrollable flashbacks of his own family getting murdered. He tries to communicate with the police to tell them what he sees, but is unable to do so. He is finally the one to help the Thai-Chinese family. It puts the stress about how Thai people are oppressed by the police (i.e. ruthless policemen beating illegal Burmese immigrants, policemen asking and receiving bribes, policemen taking advantage of prostitutes, policemen modifying proofs and truth to get promotion). The multi-layer visual style might turn off normal audience but this is a rare example of avant-garde Thai indie film.

They decide to call Mum Rachawong's spirit (วิญญาณ) to know the truth through an occult ceremony. They learn he was killed. The students decide to enquiry to know the truth. The 2495 school record miss many signatures. Weird crimes start to happen. One student dies by falling from balcony. A second student dies by electrocution in shower room. The main priest (หลวงพ่อ) would like all students to exit the school but the bad weather prevents it. A third student dies killed by a spade. Sisamut, one of the teen, is always afraid, weak, always follow orders and is the other teens' black sheep. Chaiden and two friends are arrested due to Sisamut's delation. Murders continue. Nam Khaeng has disappeared. Sisamut performs killings in the school as a revenge of being others' black sheep. Sisamut is possessed by a ghost who already committed a killing rampage a few years ago as the school management, including the main priest, was pushing for student hard selection and elite perfection. During this rampage many teens were killed including Mum Rachawong. Chaiden and his friends help to release Nam Khaeng just in time and succeed to defeat the ghost thanks to Mum Rachawong's supernatural help. A new management team now rules St George school. There is no more forced hazing.

Uncle Ping (Paen Pleumsachai) consults master Rawin, who discloses the daughter was captured by the female guardian spirit. The female guardian spirit refuses to release Akio. Rawin promises to help. Rawin confronts the female guardian spirit, having a snake form, and defeats her. The female guardian spirit accepts reluctantly to release Akio. Suchao learns that the female guardian spirit was injured by Rawin so he wishes to defeat her to get all the merit. Meanwhile, the female guardian spirit changes her physical appearance to lie to elderly people. She asks them to get an unction from Rawin to cure her injuries. Being fooled, Rawin is worried that the female guardian spirit will attack villagers again. He blocks her spirit house, so she has nowhere to go. Rawin learns from a spirit doctor that a Cambodian teacher is also looking to harm him. The teacher is defeated by Rawin and requests help from master Poo. At nighttime, the female guardian spirit contacts Rawin and discloses to him where her treasure is hidden. She wishes to share it with poor people in the village to do good deeds and to ease her rebirth. Rawin promises to help the good-hearted female guardian spirit (เจ้าแม่ใจบุญ). Rawin plunges in the river and gets back the treasure as mentioned by the female guardian spirit. Master Poo is aware the treasure is now with Rawin. At nighttime, master Poo makes Rawin and friends to sleep, so they kidnap them and steal the treasure. The female guardian spirit helps by sending two figurines keeping her shrine to release Rawin. Meanwhile ruffians are out to burn the female guardian spirit shrine. The Cambodian master is killed by the female guardian spirit. Rawin is grateful for the female guardian spirit’s help. Aware, master Poo decides to strike back. A confrontation occurs between Poo and Rawin. Rawin is about to be defeated by Poo but the female guardian spirit interposes. She uses her sister and new husband to replace Poo's magic stick with a fake stick, so he can be defeated by Rawin. The movie ends with a big celebration around the female guardian spirit shrine to thank her for her treasure donation for the village.

Dong (โด่ง) is released from prison. His friend Tor (ต่อ), his brother Ta (ต๊ะ) and his girlfriend Ploy are waiting for him. Ta is mute. They work in a family garage repairing cars. Ta and Dong try to become good teens now. They also try to have happy love stories but fights often happen with local gangsters. Dong loves Ploy, sister of Kong, a local gangster leader. One day Ta’s girlfriend Ying is gang raped in front of him by four men from Kong's gang and Ta cannot help. Revenge is inevitable. They storm Kong's gambling den. Following gun fight, one of the ruffians is shot dead. It turns badly (ทางที่ไม่ต้องการ). They kidnap Kong's girlfriend as protection ( ตัวประการ) and also grab a bag containing money and amphetamine drugs (ยาบ้า). Police is involved through inspector Sarawat (สารวัตร), who is wearing amazing colorful “Luk thung” clothes. The father is disappointed by his sons (ลูกชั่ว). The teens are misunderstood but they cannot turn back anymore. Kong is chasing them for the bag not for his girlfriend. Veteran actor Sorapong Chatree is playing the bad corrupted cop. He seldom plays bad guys. Veteran actor Suchao Pongwilai is playing the honest cop Vilai. It is ironic that he plays the rightful policeman this time as normally he always plays the corrupted official role. Things get out of control. Kong and the inspector try to catch them. Following a gun fight, a policeman is shot by the corrupted inspector and the teens get accused again. There is no rightful law in this modern society. There is a 2 millions baht reward to catch them. Ta is injured. Even Ying is endangered in the hospital. They help her on time and bring Ploy as nurse to take care of Ta. Ta leaves a love message for his father (ผมรักพ่อ). Surrounded by the police, they have to jump from a Bangkok bridge. Vilai starts to notice the close relationship between Kong and Sarawat. They take shelter in the Christian church in Thonburi. Kong attacks the parents’ house. The father is injured and Ta dies. Only Dong and Tor are left but Ploy prevents them to rush for revenge (ใช้่อารมณ์). Forced by Kong, Ploy refuses to leave for Hong Kong. Relations get sour between the police officer and Kong. The police officer kidnaps Kong's young brother to get a ransom. During the exchange, Dong and Ta irrupts causing a mess and gun fights between all. The movie then features 15 last minutes of intense action and bloody scenes. It ends tragically for all protagonists. The movie song is sing by Seua Thanapol (เสือ ธนพล). Due to 1997 Asian financial crisis, the movie didn’t perform as good as it should have at Thai box office (25M baht).

Kwan and Siep are girlfriend and boyfriend (แฟน). She is pure traditional Buddhist believer. She often goes to Buddhist temple (วัด). He is not a believer. When coming back from Khao Luang cave (ถ้ำเขาหลวง) in Phetchaburi, she is hurt by a car. Her body is not hurt but there are serious internal problems. She has only 20% chance to survive. Siep goes back to Khao Luang cave to ask for Buddha to protect Kwan as she has never done doing bad to others. The abbot explains to him that Kwan current situation is linked to her karma (กรรม) but Siep doesn't understand (กรรมเก่ามีจริง). Kwan was a robber in her previous life and killed 5 people. Siep needs to save lives of 5 people in exchange of redemption (ชดใช้) for his girlfriend. First he prevents a policeman to bet 300 000 baht on a horse that is favorite but shall finally lose. If he doesn't prevent the policeman to play, the policeman would have lost the money and gets suicide as it is not his own money. Siep also asks the policeman to give back the money he wrongly intended to use. Then Siep saves another life. A teen under the strong pressure of his parents to succeed his exams cannot bear it and wishes to kill himself. Another teen girl wishes also to throw herself under a train at the train station because her boyfriend wants to break up. He stops her just in time. He gives to her and the boyfriend the business card of the policeman so that he can help them to solve their problems. This movie is positive as it shows there are always solutions to problems. A robbery is going to happen in a Chinese jewelry with 5 people including bombs and shootings between robbers and police. His intervention allows to catch the robbers and avoid one policeman death. In another intervention aiming to save a running kid going to be crashed by a speeding car, Siep saves the wrong kid. So Kwan dies (เวรกรรม). Siep cannot find the abbot anymore. There is no monk since many years in Khao Luang cave... When going out of the cave, he gives some coins to an old beggar lady. So he gets another chance to save the kid (ทำดีได้ดี). This time he succeeds and Kwan wakes up. This movie got 5 Thai film awards in 1997. Director Oxide Pang is coming from Thai advertising industry so he uses different methods (fast shooting to indicate the speed and then slow movement for the last poignant seconds).

June accepts to recognise his mistakes when he makes error (ยอมรับผิด). Nok is now a drug leader. Romance with the daughter of school headmaster happens. June's brother buys drugs from Nok. The father is disappointed (ลูกไม่รักดี) to see his youngest son expelled from school due to drug usage. The father gets injured due to car accident and entrusts June to finish an important work but June needs to quit school. He feels to be the one to be sacrificed. He has issues with the workers. Finally he succeeds to make it on time and gets appreciation from his father. He also helps his younger brother beaten by drugs dealers led by Nok. Friendship happens a last time between June and Nok as Nok helps him. The family is now reunited and Sorapong is proud of June.

They finally go out in a mall on the next day but Ek must be careful as Police is looking for him as bike races are illegal. As Kaew and her friends miss school a lot (ขัดเรียน), they get warned by the school director. Ek is also not happy with his family. Kaew is looking for companionship as she is lonely at home. Ek is racing with Kaew. Ek is arrested by Thai Police but wishes to continue as bike racing is a romping game for him. Kaew joins a model contest to raise interest from her parents. Her mother disapproves her daughter so Kaew flees. Ek and Kaew start a relationship. Ek continues to race. His opponent dies. Ek has to flee the Police and goes to Phuket. Kaew follows him there. Ek starts to take drugs (เล่นของ). Kaew is pregnant and worried. Ek would like Kaew to abort but she refuses. Ek's father is Phairoj Jaising. Ek's condition is getting worse as he is using strong drugs. Ek is going to brothel to buy drug. As the woman refuses to sell drugs at low price to him, a fight erupts. Ek is beaten by ruffians. Kaew brings him to hospital. Doctor finds he has Aids. Aware of it, Ek wishes to break with Kaew to ensure she can have a new life. Ek has difficulties to accept his disease (หมดทุกสิ่งทุกอย่าง). Ek breaks up with Kaew. Kaew calls her teacher as she is in despair. She is four months pregnant. She discloses the news to her parents. The mother is only worried to lose face. The father acknowledges they did bad of not taking care of their daughter. After going to hospital, Kaew is also diagnosed with Aids (เราต้องรับความจริง). Kaew is back to school. Other schoolmates suspect she has Aids as she is now very slim. Other kids try to avoid her worried about the disease. A remastered version was released by Five Star Production (ไฟว์สตาร์โปรดักชั่น) in the decade 2010s and shown on Thai TV cable. Movie director is Phan Kam. Based on a true story, a young girl decides to become a teacher at 15 years old in order to promote reading awareness among mountain villagers, who cannot go to school as they are not recognized as Thai citizens. She also convinced local poor parents that children are not goods to be sold and not to listen to Bangkokians that promise false job offers. She also convinced villagers not to use drugs and young girls not to enter the flesh trade. Being a child in a poor family, Chan Raem performs very well at school and still helps her parents at home. Chan Raem sees the social issues faced by villagers, i.e. drugs selling, middle age lady trying to convince young girls to go working in Bangkok as masseuses (หมอนวด). Middle age lady uses sweet words such as gratitude (บุญคุณ) towards parents, promise of easy job, easy money. Her best friend Kam Kaew finally goes to Bangkok due to necessity (ความจำเป็น). Chan Raem cannot go to the next school level as her parents are poor. Seeing that mountain villagers' children cannot study, she decides to help. She doesn't get help from local authorities, so she does it by herself. Her father (Suchao Pongwilai) borrows 5,000 THB to help her. Local people should have knowledge and be able to read in order not to be abused by Bangkok people. Free school is open for mountain people's children and Chan Raem's parents are preparing the food for lunch time. As the number of children increases dramatically, it costs too much for the parents to bear the cost by themselves. Chan Raem convinces mountain villagers to help 1 THB a day to buy food. Rong Kaomulkadee pushes other villagers to accept. Time passes and Chan Raem becomes an adult and is played by Jintara Sookkapat. She gets help and support from her friend Santisuk Promsiri. Trees are planted. Kam Kaew is back and believes she has made the right choice to go to Bangkok. Chan Raem notices that many adults get lied to as they often sign debt contracts without reading the terms. Chan Raem invites adults to join evening lessons. Kam Kaew is back again from Bangkok. Despite having built a nice house, she has to live outside in a shack. Chan Raem learns she has AIDS stage 3 and will die soon. Her relatives reject her. Meanwhile, traffickers force young ladies to go to Bangkok as their parents sign a contract. Kam Kaew dies. Chan Raem makes an emotional speech to all parents if having a fridge is worth their child's life. Parents promise to reject traffickers. Understanding the risk caused by Chan Raem, traffickers try to oppose Chan Raem and local administration. Ruffians even mention to Thai Police that Chan Raem is running an illegal school (โรงเรียนเถื่อน). Ruffians put pressure by asking the father to pay back his debts immediately. Traffickers try to foul teacher Chan Raem by hiding drugs in the school but they are caught on time. The leader has to flee. Finally, Chan Raem's efforts are recognised. It appears in newspapers and Bangkok Bank sends a delegation to give clothes. The movie ends up as Chan Raem is going to Bangkok to get her price.

After WorldWar 2, Burma got its independance from England but the Karen minority problem was left unsolved. So an independance war between Karen and Burmese started. This movie takes place around Salween river, which the border between Thailand and Burma. Aound this area, there is no law, only guns decide. Different protagonists take part: a policeman acting like a outlaw and wishing to revenge his wife killed a few years ago, a young policeman coming from Bangkok with no experience in such difficult area, a Thai deceitful merchant playing Karen against Burmese in order to have access to rich forests full of teak logs, a Burmese general wishing to destroy the Karen stronghold around Salween river, a Karen captain wishing to defend his stronghold and giving in a wrong alliance with the Thai deceitful merchant. The war between Karen and Burmese is still going on and many people call it the forgotten genocide against the Karen people in Burma.

The movie is about friendship, love, hurt, young men entering adulthood etc… Young men Ot and Chai are coming from recomposed families. Ot (Phongphat Wachirabanjong), a young man, is urgently leaving his home as his friend is waiting in his car to go to Khorat. It is a lie. His father (Suchao Pongwilai) gives him pocket money as he has no money. Police just arrive a while later looking for Ot as he is suspected to have shot somebody! Ot leaves for Choomporn. Chai (Amphol Lumpoon) has arguments with his stepfather. This one wishes Chai to enter the sales trade, but he is not interested. The stepfather gives him money to start a small business, but Chai comes back home with a guitar. Upset, Sia breaks it. The mother is Marasri Bangchang. Chai decides to leave home as he used his own money earned by selling clothes in Pratunam. Sia never listened to what he wanted to do. He decides to leave home and to continue selling clothes. But he gets abused by the stall owner being dishonest. Meanwhile Ot is back to Bangkok to clarify a misunderstanding with his father. Chai visits Sia while at the hospital. A new relationship starts but finally Sia dies at hospital. Chai is not willing to take over Sia's business and wishes to follow his dreams. Ot exits from jail after six months. Ot is now addicted to drugs, but wishes to start a new life. He asks to stay with friends (including Morris K) who have a bungalow near a beach. There are endless sessions of smoking and drinking. Ot is struggling to get rid of addiction, but finally succeeds. Chai meets them through a common friend. They still take marijuana. They have freedom. But they realize they cannot spend their whole life like this. They split and lease (เซ้ง) the shop to somebody else. Ot goes back home and meets his step-mother (ดวงตา ตุงคะมณี) and his father. Chai is also back home. Unsatisfied by their life at home, they meet again. They decide to build a small restaurant near the beach in Phuket. Ran misses his family in Bangkok, so Chai joins him for a trip. Chai meets Ran’s mother (Metta Roongrat) and Oi, Ran’s sister. Chai also meets Nitha (จริยา อุตตะระนาค), Oi’s friend. Romance starts between Chai and Nitha. Nitha finally comes to Phuket after being invited by Chai. The restaurant is working well. Nitha is upset that Chai's friends come to drink for free as goods are expensive. Nitha is pregnant and has to go back to Bangkok to deliver. Ot is building a bar and Chai helps him. Being drunk, Chai abuses the waitress working in his restaurant. Being aware, Nitha breaks up with Chai. Chai misses Nitha and goes back to Bangkok. They finally go back together. Ot's bar is not successful. Meanwhile, Chai is still addicted. It makes Nitha upset, so she leaves again. Finally Chai changes again. Two sisters drowned in the Mekong river with a treasure chest while escaping Vientiane during the Thai looting in year 1828. They become ghosts protecting the treasure chest. They can metamorphose themselves into giant mystical snake or พยานาค. The shrine is located in a Thai Buddhist temple in Sri Chiang Mai. A convoy led by two noble Laotian ladies is transporting a treasure. They are attacked by Thai robbers. Seeing the beautiful ladies, the robbers wish to abuse them. A young Thai man interposes but he is outnumbered. They have to flee. Both ladies fall in the river. The young man is only able to rescue one lady. The other lady drowns. The treasure has fallen in the Mekong river also. Later on, a shrine is built on the river bank as homage to the drown lady. A local young girl, named Lamyai, refuses to give respect to the shrine. At night time, the spirit kidnaps Lamyai. Snakes prints are seen. Lamyai is the district officer’s (Paen Pleumsachai) daughter. He asks help from witchdoctor (หมอ) Chook (Bin Banleurit). Chook promises to help to recover his daughter. He dives in the river to find Lamyai. Chook fights and defeats a big snake (งูเจ้าแม่). Lamyai doesn't wake up but finally the snake spirit accepts to release Lamyai’s spirit to ease tensions in the village. The snake spirit changes its appearance to lie to old villagers to get unction (ยาทำแผล) to cure the injury caused by Chook at its neck. If the snake spirit gets cured, it will be danger (อาละวาด) for villagers again. Chook makes special ceremony (พิธี). The snake spirit (พญานาค) hires two others black magic sorcerers to fight against him. Another witch doctor warns Chook (ของดีในตัว) that the snake spirit will try to hurt him again (ปล้ำ). Chook has to face a Cambodian black magic sorcerer looking for troubles. Chook dives in the river and gets the treasure back. Suchao Pongwilai is pushed by the snake spirit to defeat Chook. Knowing that the snake spirit has no more treasure, Suchao decides to play his own game to defeat both Chook and the snake spirit. He even destroys the ghost shrine (ไม่มีที่พักอัศาย). Finally understanding that Chook uses white magic and not black magic like the cheating sorcerer Suchao, the snake spirit helps in order to defeat Suchao. The snake spirit forgives Chook for taking initially the treasure chest and the ghost shrine is rebuilt. Do good deeds, get rewards. Do bad deeds, get death.

Thep is part of a group of deities (Thewada - เทวดา) that comes to earth. Thep fails to go back to heaven. People in a slum (สลัม) are expelled from their home as a big company wishes to build a hotel. A journalist from CH8 (ข่าว 8) called Aep is showing the truth. Ruffians try to bring troubles but Thep protects Aep. Aep believes he met a crazy guy (เจอคนบ้า). As Thep has nowhere to go, he welcomes him in his home. Aep's sister, Kaew, is blind and makes flowers. Aep is having issues with a colleague, Watee, at the office. Other deities come to pick up Thep but Thep prefers to stay believing he is more useful in human world (มนุษย์). Aep is doing an enquiry on a kid that was kidnapped. He always highlights the opposition between poor and rich society. Aep interviews show real society so they are disturbing to his boss. Aep is worried (กลุ้มใจ) as her boss doesn't value his work. Thep starts to understand society hypocrisy (Good people – คนดี – only pretending, Charitable work – งานกุศล - is not only for those going to temple, do we value people only by their name particule – ทาน ?) Deities can be same as humans. As Thep is not willing to go back yet to heaven so he is helping Aep to do kindness (ช่วยทำความดี). Wattee and his boss (หัวหน้าผู้หญิง) are lovers. Wattee threatens her to nominate him at a higher position. An eye donation (บริจากตา) happens for Kaew. The donor is not compatible but Kaew accepts her fate. Meanwhile Wattee has no scruples. He dumps his girlfriend to pursue high professional hopes. He gets one video tape featuring a drug case but it is stolen by Da, one of the employee as it features her husband. She tries to protect her wedding and child as her husband is playing cards and dealing with drugs. Thep challenges the heaven that goodness should be seen before he heads back. To avoid bringing trouble to Da, the chief editor takes the responsibility of the missing tape. Things get worse as Da tries to get suicide as her husband has fled with her daughter. The deity leader tries to get back Thep but to no avail. Finally Da and her daughter are reunited. Through Kaew and the chief editor's action, Thep can see kindness on earth. Wattee is still jaleous with Thep and Aep. He sends some ruffians to neutralize them. Thep can vanquish them and Wattee is sent to jail as his boss doesn't support him (ตอบแทนความดี!). As Wattee is now in jail, it is time for Thep to go back to heaven. It was originally a Thai TV serie done in 1986 and then adapted to cinema in 1989. Another TV serie remake was done in 1998.

Four friends at university just get their diploma. Among them, the main characters are a young lady called Na and a young man called Panit. Panit's father is a policeman. His friends are worried regarding Panit's new behavior. Panit shares the same flat with his father. Panit starts to take drugs (ติดยา). Panit's father is strict. There is no mother at home. The father discovers that Panit is now addicted (ทำไม). The policeman cannot understand that his son with high education can be a drug addict (ยังมีความรู้). The father forgives his son as he is also responsible of the situation by being always out of home. The policeman consults a monk. Panit continues to indulge in drugs not only joints but also heroin injections. He becomes a thug. The movie shows how drugs can change people life despite high studies if parents don't follow enough and if meet bad friends. Panit's father is suspended from the Police due to his expeditious way of working. Panit's girlfriend is raped and killed by other thugs. He takes revenge and kills accidently one thug. Meanwhile the father is reinserted in police and needs to arrest the killer (ผิดกฎหมาย). Vina is sad (เสียใจ) as her brother is dead. The thug that Panit killed is Vina's own brother! Panit is more and more addicted to drugs and has deep crisis. Vina and her friends try to help but drugs have done big ravage. Friendship (เพื่อนรัก) is still here. Panit recognises his failures (ฉันผิด) and that his father is a good man (พ่อเป็นคนดี), who follows the law (รักษากฎหมาย). Panit was his father's hope (เป็นความหวังของพ่อ). Arop (Suchao Pongwilai) is having two families, one with the major wife Oon (daughter Pim but from another wedding) and one with a minor wife Plaew (daughter Leu). Takasit has just divorced with Yaboot (Jarunee Sooksawad). Somrit is having diner with Yaboot. Somrit is a seducer (ต้นไม้หลายดอก). Pim has seen Arop with Plaew and threatens to do everything she can to break this relationship (ช่วยไม่ได้). Takasit, aware that Somrit is seeing Yaboot, asks her to stop this before she gets disappointed. Yetha also sees Somrit in a disco with Yaboot. She is worried about her mother (บัดซบ / เกลียด). Yaboot's mother sees Somrit with Taen in a restaurant. Both Takasit and Yetha dislike Somit (แมงดา) and are afraid of the consequences on their mother (ไม่ยุติธรรมสำหรับแม่) as she gets love only because of her money. Tien offers a business to Somrit but there is a need to spend a lot of money on promotion. Misunderstanding increases between Yeuta, Tien, Yaboot and Takasit. Somrit is claiming nobody understands him. Yaboot is confused between Somrit and Takasit. Who does she really love? Could she marry again the husband she just divorced? Pim declares her love to Arop. Arop cannot accept this but Oon hears everything, i.e. a daughter loving her step father! Those two families are in middle of serious love crisis. Oon is the traditional Thai wife forgiving his husband’s mistakes such as minor wife. Finally the crisis are solved. Pim decides to go studying abroad and gets pardon from her parents Oon and Arop. Somrit’s double game is unmasked as he asks Yaboot for wedding. The love story with Tien is over and Somrit is chased by Yetha (ไม่ลูกผู้ชาย) under a weapon threatening without any indemnities. Yaboot finally goes back with Takasit and stops listening to her mother. Morality is safe. Somrit remains alone without anything. The movie เหยื่ออารมณ์ (1988) is about love (รัก), separation (เลิก), appearance and society constraints, i.e. no divorce in older age, no young lover for a woman. A previous version with Krung Srivilai, Aranya Namwong, Sahat Piempongsan was released in 1975.

San is a soldier. His father and sister, called Samon, are working in a mine concession looking for precious stones. The father finds a big ruby. The head of the concession wants to buy it at a low price but the father refuses. While San is at the Thai border, the head of the concession uses tough men to get the gem. San's father is killed but the gem is not found. The head of the concession takes San's sister as his girlfriend as she believes he is a nice man. Back to the village, San knows that the head of the concession is responsible of his father's death and has arguments with his sister. The concession head uses tough men to get rid of San and he is badly injured. He takes refuge in a Buddhist cave and is rescued by a wandering forest monk. He gives him a sacred Buddha amulet for protection. People with good intention are protected by the Buddha sacret amulet. Thanks to the sacred amulet, bullets cannot hurt San. San finally overcomes the head of the concession and his tough team. This movie is typical of 1980's action movies where the main actor always faces local god father protected by many tough men. He fights without support from the police. Local people enjoyed such kind of movie enhancing family relationship, Buddhist traditions and moralistic story.

Thip (ทิพย์), a 16 years old teen, is part of a family of well off people (เป็นลูกผู้ดี). She is not a villager kid (ลูกชาวบ้าน) so her mother doesn't want her to mingle with people of lower status. Her mother (Pissamai Wilaisak) plans to find a good husband for Thip. The mother is very strict and Thip is not allowed to go out without her mother's authorization. She forbids almost everything (อะไรๆก็ห้าม) despite her husband's advice (รู้จักโลก). Thanks to her friend, Thip meets Chaya (ไชยา), a young teen boy, working in a bicycle repair shop. The husband spends long hours and nights working at the family factory. The mother wishes to put her in a boarding school (โรงเรียนประจำ) as she has no time for her (ไม่มีเวลาดูแล). Thip learns to drive and often spent time with Chaya at the Rose inn... Thip becomes pregnant. As the mother discovers that Thip has a boyfriend, she becomes so upset. Afraid to announce her pregnacy, Thip finally flees with Chaya. They go to Bangkok. Afraid to tarnish her family name, the mother forbids anybody to announce the news. The mother uses a hit man (มือปืน) to take revenge over Chaya's father, who has claimed the blame was on Thip (แม่มีเงินและอิทธิพล). Bangkok people are not honest (ระวังตัว) with provincial people. Thip and Chaya have a hard life in Bangkok. They meet a lady called Chalem, who is in fact interested to use Thip in a call girl ring. Thip is not used to do chore house or cook food so she experiments a harsh life. Their couple is under hard pressure. Chaya finds a small job (30 baht ซ่อมจักรยาน). Thip needs to become a domestic helper (คนใช้) as they don't have enough money. She is hired by a teacher despite she has a husband already. Thip and Chaya live in separated place (ดีอย่างหนึ่งเสียอย่างหนึ่ง). Chaya smokes now and meets ruffians. Meanwhile the teacher's husband tries to rape Thip. She has to flee but she cannot find Chaya as he moved out. He is now addicted to drugs. Thip's parents are now separated so she has no choice but to ask Chalem to find an escort job for her. She doesn't want to go with guests. Chalem wants her to abort but finally keeps the baby, who is a girl. Chaya is smashed by a car while fleeing following a robbery. Thip is sold to a prostitution ring in North of Thailand. During a bordel inspection, a relative of Thip recognizes her. Thip gives him the baby and then finally suicides herself. This movie highlights Thai society modern issues (lack of care and time for children, teens pregnancy, abortion, prostitution...).

Police is now looking for Kam Sing and Bulong. Kam Sing and the rich man's daughter Nit (อภิญญา คุ้มตะบุตร) know each other since childhood. Kam Sing finally decides to flee to Bangkok. Her mother doesn't wish him to become a Thai boxer (เจ็บตัว). Suchao Pongwilai is the heartless owner of ring. Sompong Phonmitr tries to abuse from Kam Sing. As all chances have been exhausted (หมดสภาพ), Bulong fights on a Thai boxing ring but is severely injured to the brain. While getting Bulong out of hospital, they are caught by police. Kam Sing ends up in jail as he was the one to hit Boon. Kam Sing is sent to isolation quarters (คุกมืด) as Kam Sing hits an inmate wishing to have relationship with him. His mother, tired by his behavior, becomes a nun (บวชชี). Knowing this, Kam Sing promises himself to become a good guy and to do something his mother would be proud of him. He decides to become a professional Thai boxer. Kam Sing wins all his fights as he is training very hard. He shall now face Kowit Wattanakul, Thai boxing champion. To trick the match, Suchao Pongwilai puts Kowit in a lower category so Kam Sing needs to lose weight to match 70kg causing him to become much weaker. Following an epic fight, Kam Sing finally defeats Kowit. He is back to his town and is shown as an example. He left as a pariah and comes back as a champion. He can now show to his mother that he really changed.

It is the second opus of the movie Citizen. As the Citizen I movie's main actor has died, Sorapong Chatree was used instead. It is about Thongpoon Khokpoh, a convict going out of prison, and looking for his son. His son refuses to meet him as he was left over many years. His father was in prison and his mother lives abroad with a foreigner. Thongpoon wishes to get reunited with his son. The movie deals about the lack of freedom about ex prisoners, i.e. difficulty of reinsertion, difficulty to find a job, bad image - an old convict will always be a bad man. He sympathizes with a young girl, who is a pickpocket. People don't trust Thongpoon as he is former convict but he is also not trusting the young girl when she brings back money, thinking she has stolen it. A pickpocket will always be a thief. Thongpoon is a nice guy, never wishing to break rules, never lying or doing something against law. So people call him stupid or buffalo! Thongpoon has difficulty to find a job as he is too honest and always says he is a former convict. Once you're in jail, you're always in jail, in this society. Once you get out of jail, you are still branded by the evidence. He is still an outsider. Through a misunderstanding, he is also confronted to bad policemen (Suchao Pongwilai) who don't believe Thongpoon can seek redemption but the head of police trusts Thongpoon. When a car bumps him, he refuses to sue the car driver and blames his own careless mistake. Finally the car driver seeing his kindness recruits him in his restaurant for tourists. Unfortunately one of his former inmates abducts his son and threatens Thongpoon to hurt his son if Thongpoon doesn't kill his boss, who has an issue with local mafia. Thongpoon's choice is difficult and is put in analogy with an ongoing Ramayakian dance (Rama facing demons) in the restaurant. Finally Thongpoon simulates his boss' murder in order to be reunited with his son and has to work hand in hand with the policeman, who formerly looked down on him, to stop the gangsters. The policeman acknowledges his misjudment on Thongpoon. Thongpoon, his son and the young girl are leaving to Udon Thani. This film highlights conflicts between poor people (Thongpoon, the pickpocket girl), the government officials (policemen) and wealthy influential businessmen.

Nat (Suriwan Suriyong) is the local school teacher. Nat is separated for two years ago with student Chanuan (Bin Banleurit). Chanuan wishes to resume relationship with Nat but she refuses as she doesn't want to suffer again. Her decision to go in this poor remote village is linked to Chanuan's previous bad behavior. Some villagers such as Wan (Pumi Patanayut) don't welcome students (อาศัยพัฒนาหมู่บ้าน). Local influential man Boonsong is working with Wan to replace Meui. Boonsong gives free wood to build the school. Boonsong forbids anybody to go in some parts of the forest. They cut illegally trees in the forest per student Waen's discovery (ทำร้ายป่า). Arguments occur between students as they don't agree on the way to manage this. The majority decides not to be involved as it is outside their mandate. Wan of course protects Boonsong as he is supporting the villagers to keep them quiet. Meui wishes that Chanuan quits the village as arguments occur with Nat as she doesn't want to forgive him. Waen complains Thailand will become a desert (ทะเลทราย) with all those trees cut illegally. Waen wishes Chanuan to bring some pictures to newspapers. Waen and Chanuan see men led by Chat Mongkolchai and Ong Nai (Suchao Pongwilai) cutting trees. Waen dies shot by ruffians led by Boonsong (คนที่มีอิทธิพล). Mon people are working for Boonsong and get paid in medicine and weapons to be able to fight against Burmese military government (การฆ่าและการต่อสู้ไม่เหมือนกัน). Ong Nai understands Chanuan as he is also a former student, but he cannot help. During the weapons trading, Boonsong's ruffians shoot the Mon people. Only Ong Nai escapes. Ruffians storm the student's place and burn the school as they believe one of them hides the camera. As they threaten Nat, Uan interposes and gets killed. Chanuan has not enough proofs to accuse Boonsong and Wan. To avoid more deaths, students must leave by train. Chanuan decides to go back to rebuild a school as a memorial to Waen and Uan. Students follow him. School has been burnt. Nat and Chanuan resume friendship. Ong Nai has a debt towards Boonsong. He gives Waen's camera back to Chanuan and promises to manage Boonsong per the forest laws... Meanwhile Nat and the children have been kidnapped by the Boonsong's ruffians. They succeed to escape but are chased by ruffians. Meanwhile Thai army, Chanuan and Meui face the ruffians. Shootings happens and Meui is killed. Ruffians send big logs on the Thai army and children but luckily nobody is injured. Chanuan and Lak chase ruffians. Lak loses his life while protecting Chanuan. About to escape, Boonsong is shot by Wan. Wan gets the credit to have stopped Boonsong despite Chanuan claiming he was right hand of Boonsong. Thai army leader mentions to Chanuan that it is time for students to go back to Bangkok. Nothing they can do against what is good or bad here. Wan is nominated as new village leader. Nat refuses to go back to Bangkok as she needs to take care of the kids. Despite adversity, she has to stay and not flee. The only solution for Chanuan to protect Nat and the Baan Dan villagers is to shoot Wan... After shooting Wan, Chanuan is arrested but remains คนดีที่บ้านด่าน in the villagers’ hearts.

This movie is focusing on a poor Muslim community in South of Thailand close by the Malaysian border. A teenager boy, called Huyan, has to sell ice cream to help his father as his father is not rich enough to pay education for his three children. His teacher and his best friend, a girl called Mimpi, are sorry about this decision. The teacher asks Huyan to continue to pass this year exams as education is important for his future. He can sell ice creams in the school thanks to the teacher kindness. Huyan has one smaller brother and sister. He has no mother any more. Business competition is hard as other ice cream vendors have bicycles to go from one place to another but Huyan needs to walk. Her friend Mimpi goes to Malaysia but promises to come back. Everyday Huyan waits at the train station hoping for her return. He finally sees and goes to the Malaysian border with her as he forgot to exit the train. During the trip, Huyan meets other youngsters making a living by smuggling rice. Meanwhile his father is looking for him and gets hit by a train. He is disabled and cannot work anymore. The son has remorse. He has to take responsibility of the whole family. There is a swift change from the school protected environment to adult responsibilities. He helps to smuggle rice between Malaisia and Thailand. It is illegal as no taxes are paid on the rice. He has no choice based on family survival necessity (ความจำเป็น). To escape controllers, he has to go on top of the train wagons where youngsters risk their live if they fall. He has also to run away to escape the police. Back to Yaowarat district, Cheut ends up in Boo Wibunnan's entertainment centre and meets Anchalee Chaisiri. She suggests him to go to Jumbo bar to find Yot. There, Cheut is facing Pao Porapak. Thai police uses a stratagem for Jo to join Cheng’s team. Facing a fight with ruffians, Cheng is helped by Jo in a bar. Convinced by his skills, Cheng asks him to join his team. Pailin is business partner with Cheng. Per Pailin’s order, Yot captures Cheut. Cheng wants to get back his money. Meanwhile, Sahat captures Pailin's men in order to know where they keep Cheut. Cheut claims the money was confiscated by the HK Police but the drug is still stored in a suitcase hidden in Pailu’s home. Pailu gets help from Somchai so that drug is given back to ruffians. Cheng starts to suspect Pailu also. She fails to escape. Meanwhile Thai police surrounds the ruffians’ den. Yot plans to kill Cheut but it fails through a final epic fight between Cheut and Yot. Following arguments, Miss Ko has barred Salek from any Thai boxing match. Dai Cheung succeeds to be recruited as sand bag training partner by the Leopard in order to work up his style but is heavily beaten. He doesn't think Salek can beat the Leopard. Finally it is discovered that Salek is also Dialin Chi's son with a Thai woman. Miss Ko accepts to organise a fight between Salek and the Leopard. The match happens despite Dai Cheung trying to prevent Salek to assist. Salek gets killed on the ring following the Leopard's hard punches. His half-brother is dead. Dai Cheung decides to become a Thai boxer to revenge his half-brother. He trains hard to be able to get a fight versus the Leopard. Finally following a difficult fight, he succeeds to defeat the Leopard but uncle Lu's family members are still around for revenge also... This Hong Kong action movie particularly shines when Chatchai Plengpanich and other Thai actors are around. Hong Kong Kung Fu actors are Lee Chung-Yat and Ti Lung.

A young lady Apple is supposed to get married. On her wedding day, another lady comes to get back her husband (หลอกเรา). Apple is disappointed again. They find a job in the same company. At night time, they play an escort role in a gambling casino (บ่อน) in order to try finding rich men but the police raids the place. Apple gets refuge in Chatri's car as she mistakes it as a taxi in order to escape to the police. Apple tries her luck again in her search for a rich man (เศรษฐี) in a sport club. They meet Krit (Thongchai McIntyre), who invites them to Chiang Mai in his countryside house. Apple asks Chatri (Sorapong Chatree) to drive them to Chiang Mai. As his car is broken, they just dropped him to go for hitchhiking. Chatri also is also rescued by Krit. He knows the game played by the three girls and have strong sarcasms over them. While wandering in the forest, they have arguments with illegal loggers. They are kidnaped but succeeded to flee except Nook. Krit saves Nook. They finally go back to Bangkok as they run out of money. Pen put the furnitures in a pawn shop (โรงจำนำ) to get money. Krit orders the furnitures to be replaced. Apple is fed up with rich people so she leaves her friends. The movie ends happily with the three ladies getting married. This movie is a typical romantic comedy from 1980s led by local superstars Sorapong Chatre and Jarunee Sooksawad. It also shows modern women vision and status in 1980s Thai society.

All men in the house fight over Dokbua. Pen wants to use Dokbua to take care about her paralyzed husband ardors so that she can have more free time with Chet. Dokbua played the stupid girl but she is in fact very intelligent. Only Chala knows Dokbua has entered the house with a specific idea. What is her goal and her hidden secret? This HiSo house is same as hell (นรก). People are doing bad deeds (มีบาป). Ten years ago, Chon, the father always partied in the house and brought girls. It only stopped when the father became paralyzed. Lek, the youngest daughter, has a boyfriend called Tat. Tat also tries to seduce Dokbua. Pen has a new plan and introduces Dokbua to a rich man called Tawat. Pen gets money in exchange of providing young girls to rich men. There are arguments between Tawat and Chon. Dokbua prefers to stay with Chon. Tawat takes over Chon's company as he looses face regarding Dokbua. It causes a heart attack to Chon. Dokbua talks to Chon privately on his hospital bed while he is dying. Chon is afraid about hell (กลัวนรก) due to his previous bad deeds. Before dying he updates his testament and gives nothing for his children. Everything goes for Dokbua. Chita relates Chon's story to Chala. Chon was behaving like a ruffian when he was young. After having a second kid the father starts to misbehave again with girls so the mother called Lamyong hanged up herself. Dusit was a former business associate of Chon but they had arguments. Chita and Dusit were in a love story and Chon made it broken up. Dusit later has another wife but Chon never forgave to Dusit and Dusit was shot in the back. Dokbua is Dusit's daughter. Dusit is still alive but is paralyzed. Tat still tries to seduce Dokbua as Lek is now a poor girl. Chet also tries to be nice. This hypocrisy causes Tat and Lek to break up. Pen and Chet also break up. Pen cannot stand it. Pen shots Chet and becomes crazy. Lek behaves as a bad girl. The whole family ends up in a turmoil even if Dokbua didn't intend to be such a mess. Finally Dokbua and Chala declares their love for each other. Dokbua gives all heritage to Chita. This movie highlight the high society hypocrisy. Chana Kraprayoon is famous for directing drama / romance movies and Thai TV series. This movie was adapted in a Thai TV serie in 2007. Jarunee Sooksawad got an award for her Best Actress performance in this movie.

They bring him to a remote area to execute him per Mek’s orders but bullets don't enter (นั่งเนี่ยว) as he is protected by the sacred amulet given by the monk. Paen shoots them back. Policeman Nard Poowanai, as หมวด, is also trying to catch him. Kingpin Mek and subdistrict headman Chat (Krai Kanchit) (ลูกน้องมือขวา) are concerned that Paen succeeded to escape. Paen has many enemies (ศัตรูเยอะ). Two ladies Lom (Piathip Kumwong) and Phit (Thitima Sangkapitak), Paen’s mother and sister, are visiting the village leader. Both are the village leader's mistresses and Lom is also seduced by Chat (เป็นชู). Thai police is still looking after Paen. Paen takes refuge in a village but the village leader (Pumi Patanayut) warns the police. Paen succeeds to flee by having an hostage called Lamai (Mayura Thanabutr). Paen learns who are his enemies through Somsak Chaisongkram. Paen kills three ruffians (มือปืน). Ruffians kidnap young lady Lamai but Paen releases her and injures the village leader trying to abuse her. Young lady Booklee is kidnapped to become Mek’s new minor wife. Khun Mom Sasingha (Kowit Wattanakul) meets Chaba (Ampha Pusit), niece (หลานสาว) of Kamnan Chat. He presents himself as a customer of the underground casino (บ่อน). Pipop Pupinyo is looking for troubles with Sasingha but gets beaten. Chat is then jealous that Sasingha is too close to Chaba. Seua Rit (Suchao Pongwilai) is hired by the village leader to get rid of Paen. Mek’s daughter, Pumarin (Apiradee Pawaputanon), is coming back from overseas following successful studies. Her real father is Rit but he doesn’t want her daughter to know that her father is a thief so the truth was never disclosed to Pumarin. Paen behaves as a Robin Wood (โจร) by giving free goods to poor villagers. A pact is agreed between Paen, Khun Mom Sasingha and Klot (Rith Luecha). Klot wishes to get revenge on Mek as he killed all his family members and kidnapped his niece Booklee. Paen refuses to meet his sister Phit anymore. Both Chat and Lom are buried alive as Mek discovers they are having an affair. Meanwhile Rit kills pregnant Lamai and her mother as they refused to disclose where Paen is hidden. Phit is having an affair with Seua Rit. Per her strategy to protect her brother, Phit claims to Mek that she has been raped by Rit so that Rit cannot harm Paen anymore. Paen releases Pumarin aggressed by ruffians kidnapping her. Klot gains the trust of Mek in order to better spy him. Paen wishes to get revenge on Mek but police surrounds him. The Buddhist amulet saves Paen one more time. Phit protects Paen a last time by shooting Mek but this latter shoots her before dying. Paen listens to Pumarin and surrenders peacefully to the police. A sequel released in year 1988 was called ลำพูนแดง.

Ratree (Linda Khatancharoen), Chai’s fiance, is upset as Chai dances with Prisana. Ratree is expecting to marry Chai. It is Prisana’s birthday. Chai offers her a dog. Prawit offer her a bracelet. Both men are enamoured with Prisana. Following a family trip in Hua Hin, Prisana announces she will not marry Prawit so Anong is happy. Chai is getting closer to Prisana (น่ารักที่สุด). Seeing Ratree unsuccessful to get Chai's love, Sameu tries his luck and kisses Ratree (มนุษย์หลอกลวง). Seri (Anchalee Chaisiri) sees them and is disappointed. Neighbour Anoon (ปรัชญา อัครพล) is back from America and tries to become close to Prisana. Chai tells Prisana that Prawit wants to marry her, so she becomes very upset. The aunt wants this wedding to occur in order to keep money inside the family. At Prawit’s wedding, Chai asks Prisana's hand but she doesn't believe him. An old doctor friend visits Et (Toon Hiransap). Et asks for Thip's hand (Jarunee Sooksawad). Thip's father (Somchai Samipak) has a shock. Et visits his doctor friend to find a solution. Chosri Misommon and Doo Dook Kradon are playing crazy patients (อย่าถือคนบ้า ว่าคนเม่า). One of the kids, Mee, is kidnapped by Suchao Pongwilai. Suchao is asking for 300 000 baht as ransom. The kid succeeds to escape and even tricks his kidnappers. The kidnappers lie to Et and capture him. He still has to give a ransom to be released. Luckily the Police is passing by and he can escape. Ruffians are finally identified and jailed by Police. Et can finally marry Thip. Et and Thip are singing a song reminding of วัยอลวน movie in 1975. วัยอลวน was also director by Piak Poster. His old doctor friend (จิรศักดิ์ อิศรางกูร) asks him for help. He needs him to take care about a lady's best friend so that he can focus to seduce her without having a chaperon always around. Et teaches her tennis. Thip sees him with that lady and back home, he gets severely beaten and even falls from the stairs. Incantations (คาถา) from the grandfather are used to make people smaller or bigger so that he is not humiliated by his wife anymore but it is only a dream. Believing Et is becoming crazy as he keeps mumbling incantations, Thip calls the doctor to check his condition. The doctor asks Thip to be nice towards Et as he missed love when he was a kid. Thip announced to the head of school (Juree Osiri) that she quits her job to take care about her home. It is Thip's birthday. As Thip is wearing old style clothes so one of her friend restyles her. So she becomes sexy (คุณย่าเซ็กซี่). Love is back between Et and Thip. The movie can end happily.

It was also released under the name "Deadly Hunt" under VHS format in Sweden by company Video World. An international police squad (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Korea and Philippines) investigates on a crime ring called "Asian King". The Police squad (ตำรวจสากล) is led by Somchai Samipak. The "Asian King" gang is led by Bulap (Sahat Piempongsan) and เมือง อพอลโล่. In Hong Kong, Rith Luecha performs a robbery inside a jewellery. The owner is shot by Rith. David is against the shooting so he gets knockout by Rith. Rith and his men flee and meet with their local boss, Suchao Pongwilai. Police chase them but they succeed to escape by boat. David, arrested by Hong Kong police, is accused of international diamond robbery but released as proofs are not enough. Thai police follows him to spy his activities as they still have doubts on him. A whole international Police team is gathering to fight the Asian King gang. Win (Sorapong Chatree) is one of the Police team leader. Lady Napossa (Naowarat Yooktanun) joins the team as her jeweller father was killed by Asian King gang. David is back to Thailand as he wants to get revenge over the "Asian King" gang, who killed his family as retaliation. Diamonds are stolen again during a Bangkok diamond show despite the police presence. David saves Suwana’s life (Piyamas Monayakol) by being shot instead of her. Catherine (Chaweewan Boonprok), part of Asian King team, gets the tasks to kill some male policemen. She targets David first but fails. Songthong is part of Thai police also. Rumours are heard that Asian King team needs to gather in Pattaya. Asian King team tries all ways to get rid of the special police force but to no avail. Asian King team’s cache entrance is hidden under a hotel swimming pool. Two members are captured and Songthong is shot dead. Win and Napossa are also captured. The other members localise also the cache. All members succeed to escape. The Thai army comes to help the policemen to neutralize the Asian King tean. Through a final battle, many characters are injured or killed while assaulting the Asian King gang’s fortress. Win's self sacrifice inside the fortress succeeds to destroy it. A Thai TV serie or Lakorn (ละคร) based on this story was also done in 2003. Despite a classic scenario, the highest value of this movie is to include the finest bunch of Thai actors from beginning of 1980s decade.

A new teacher (ครูใหม่) called Sirin (Jarunee Sooksawad) is recruited. She notices that two students always arrive late. One is a boy called Satit coming from a rich family (ลูกเศรษฐี). One is a girl called Kalaya coming from a slum family (สลัม). The movie highlights the importance to study for teens but also the importance for teachers to keep interest from their students (รักเรียน). This school has a strict director and strict teachers keeping the same program and activities without changes over years. Sirin tries to change this mindset. In Thai schools students show respect to their teachers in the mornign and evening (ไหว้ครู) and get hit with a stick (ลงโทษ) when they fail to obey to the school rules. Sirin faces opposition from the teacher head when she wishes to punish Satit for his bad behavior. Only the poor child Boonmee gets punished. Sirin wants to have same treatment for all children either rich or poor. A fight happens between Satit and Boonmee. Satit's elder brother, called Narit, comes to complain about the new teacher at the shool. He trusts Satit and doesn't know he is behaving badly. Kalaya has no time to study. Every early morning she has to deliver newspapers. Her father is always drunk and hit his wife. Kalaya is too ashamed to say why she is late everyday. Teachers decide to buy a bicycle for her so she doesn't have to run in the morning (same as movie Walli - วัลลี). Satit keeps stealing things. This time he steals teacher belongings and accuses Boomee. Hopefully Sirin is aware of the stratagem but Narit refuses to believe that his younger brother has problems as he is coming from a rich family. Money doesn't buy happiness... Kalaya didn't come to school since many days as her father sold the bicycle to buy alcohol. She now works in a construction site. Students decide to share the workload regarding newspapers distribution so that she can be on time in school. Following a brawl, Satit is sent to Police station. Teacher Sirin confirm (รับรอง) her students integrity so that they can be released. The school is going to take part in sport competition with other schools. They have big hope in cycling with Kalaya and Thai boxing with Boonmee. Poor children train hard while rich children just enjoy beach. Sirin sees Satit stealing the director's ring. She prevents the robbing but gets injured as Satit pushes her violently. The director doesn't believe Satit could be a robber. Losing trust in her director, Sirin resigns. Students refuse to study until Sirin is back. Finally Satit tells the truth to his brother. This one asks the director to recruit back Sirin. Sirin refuses to acknowledge the director's requests but accepts when students implore her. Competition starts. The school wins in boxing and cycling. Satit becomes a good boy. Despite strange cuts in the editing, this movie is full of good feelings, i.e. school importance, teacher dedication, studies, rich and poor society opposition...

Thai movie รักพยาบาท was released in year 1981 and lasts 1h56mn. A remastered version was released by Five Star Production (ไฟว์สตาร์โปรดักชั่น) in the decade 2010s and shown on Thai TV cable. The movie was released under VCD format by Solar company. Movie director is แจ๊สสยาม. It was the last movie of famous Thai actor Jatuphol Poopirom, who died in a car accident on 20 March 1981. Children Pim and Paen are two close friends. They get separated as Paen is going to study in Bangkok. Reaching adult age, Pim is played by Penpak Sirikul and Paen by Naowarat Yooktanun. Both stop studies and start to work. Paen is working in Chatree (Suchao Pongwilai)'s company. Pin also finds a job in Chiang Mai. Claiming he has a letter for Pim, Pim's boss tries to rape her but he has a heart attack. Pim flees. She meets San (Jatuphol Poopirom) by hazard. He helps Pim as she does not know where to go. Finally, a romance starts between them and they become lovers. San has to go to Chiang Rai for business for three days and promises to send her to Bangkok. San has a car accident while driving to Chiang Rai. Chatree nominates Paen as his personal secretary. Pim waits but San is not coming back. She has to leave the hotel. She goes to Bangkok and faces a taxi driver, who steals her luggage. She has nowhere to go and feels hungry. She collapses and somebody brings her to hospital. The doctor (นพพล โกมารชุน) pities her and finds a job for her in his aunt's company. A romance starts. Pim is pregnant with San as father. Abortion is forbidden by law so the doctor refuses to help. He finally changes his mind but Pim has decided to do it by herself. She loses a lot of blood but luckily the doctor saves her again. She wishes to get revenge over San. Pim befriends Lin, an actress, so she wishes to become an actress. Pim meets Adul Dulyarat, a movie director, and becomes his mistress. San meets Paen. A romance starts and he wishes to marry Paen. Paen resigns from Chatree's company and gets married to San. Chatree still loves Paen but Paen considers him as a friend only. San is looking for a job but refuses to ask help from Chatree. Bancha (Surasit Sattayawong), a rich businessman, is contacted by Paen to help San. He accepts to help as he is impressed by Paen's strong love over San. Adul wishes to introduce Pim to Bancha as he plans to marry her. Pim meets San at Bancha's birthday party. Pim leaves Adul to live with Bancha and marries him. Pim does everything to make San upset. She wears the ring San offered to her and discloses who she is. They become lovers again. Pim pushes San to divorce Paen. As Paen refuses to divorce, Pim suggests to San to kill Paen. Paen announces she is pregnant, so San decides to break up with Pim. Meanwhile Bancha is also aware of the situation through Krailat Kriengkrai. Pim storms the place when San and Paen are staying. When realising that San’s wife is her old friend Paen, she renounces her wish to shoot San. She wishes good luck to them. In the parking lot, she gets shot by Krailat and dies. Bancha did not forgive…

Malee (Chosri Misommon) is married to Lor Tok, an alcoholic caretaker. Lor Tok has a daughter called Lao (Nipaporn Nongnuch) and a son called Lo. Malee has also a son from a previous wedding. He is called Mon (ทะลึ่ง). Lor Tok is a husband believing his wife more than his children so relationship is very bad between his children and the new wife. Teacher Awan (Naowarat Yooktanun) meets Pop (Jatuphol Poopirom) visiting the countryside per invitation from his friend, a policeman played by Suchao Pongwilai. The father doesn't give money anymore to his children so Lo thinks about stealing the coins from dead corpses (เงินปากผี). With two friends (Biaw and Pui), Lo goes in a Buddhist temple at night time to steal coins from corpses stored in a morgue. The teacher brings Pop to a famous sacred cave where birds can be heard but not seen. Many people died there. The three children spent all their pocket money so decide to go to the sacred cave to look for additional coins. They dig up a coffin with a corpse still in perfect condition (ผีเขมร). One of the kids forces to open the mouth in order to get the coin so causing the dead spirit to be very upset. Biaw dies because of the ghost. The boy Lo wishes to give back the coins to the spirit but Mon has stolen the coins and plan to sell them in Bangkok. The policeman enquiries on the coins found on Biaw. Biaw's mother gives the coins to the teacher. The spirit then possesses the teacher and frightens Pui at night time. Pui is found with burnt hands. As Lo recognises his stealing, the spirit doesn't hurt him but forces him to watch Pui digging endlessly. The spirit is now after Malee and sends hell birds (นกนรก) to punish her as she is a liar. Pui finally dies. A spirit doctor (หมอผี) arrives in the village and warns the teacher Awan that she is possessed. He asks to meet her in the sacred cave to perform an exorcist ceremony (พิธี) but he is found dead. The spirit kills both Malee and Mon. Villagers finally request the help of a Buddhist monk in order to neutralize successfully the evil ghost. In 2014, this movie was fully restored in beautiful colorful HD version by Five Star company.

In Northern Thailand, a district officer is shot in the back. He was fighting against illegal trees cut. It is the fourth officer killed on duty in five years. A new one (Sombat Methanee) is nominated. The new district officer understands very fast that a latent corruption happens and that local people (ชาวป่า) are expected to give gifts (chickens, daughter given as maid as a compensation of non paid debts...). The new district officer's adjoint is called Palat and is played by Suchao Pongwilai again with brio in the role of rogue officer. Sor Asanajinda plays the role of a brusque villager complaining indirectly regarding rampant corruption. His son Pol (Sorapong Chatree) is also very active. The minister who sent the district officer has problems with his own daughter, Nit (Jarunee Sooksawad), due to misunderstanding with his new wife. She leaves for the same village Daran Thong and becomes the local teacher. Nit has also medicine knowledge and has to face local fear of ghosts and sorcerer (หมอผี). Old people prefer using sorcerer instead of modern pills. Thanks to Nit and with Pol's leadership, the farmers ask for higher prices and debts resettlement to the trader. Local trader tries to corrupt the district officer but fails to do so. The corrupted subdistrict headman (กำนัน) and trader start to be very upset. They try to buy land as they know that a road will be built to the village but Pol asks villagers to refuse to sell. The subdistrict headman daughter Sophit is back from studying abroad. Palat is secretly fond of her. A young lady called Bukham is raped and killed by Palat. Palat accuses Pol with false proofs. Pol flees and discovers that many trees are cut illegally. Nobody speaks due to fear. The new district officer asks Pol to surrender if he is innocent. Pol's father is found hanged as he spoke too much (พูดประชด - พูดมาก) against corrupted officers. The adjoint uses local people to build the road at a cheaper price. Nit brings the villagers to the province officer to ask for full payments and she wins. Meanwhile Palat rapes the subdistrict headman daughter Sophit and strangles her. Pol's brother sees it and warns his brother. Sabin and Nit get attacked. Sabin is captured but Nit can flee. Nit and Pol come to help Sabin and bring Sophit's dead body to the subdistrict headman. This one wishes to kill Palat as revenge but gets shot before. Finally Palat gets smashed by a log in the illegal logging factory and the district officer helps to catch all ruffians. A school and hospital shall be built by the previous corrupting trader. The movie finishes happily, Nit is named school director (ครูใหญ่ใหม่), Pol is named new subdistrict headman (กำนันใหม่). This movie with social and meaningful messages also involves comedy and romance and not only pure drama. A new generation of government officials is here to replace the previous corrupted generation.

Red bamboo is a novel writen by famous writer M.R. Kukrit Pramoj in 1954. It was reprinted 19 times and translated in 9 languages. It is adapted from "The Little World of Don Camillo". The movie deals about the opposition between the new faith (Communism) and the old faith (Buddhism). It is about the conflicts that arose between traditional Thai village life and the forces of modernization that were transforming the country. It takes place in Isan region, northeastern part of Thailand. It is the hot season. Kwen is a local villager but he is seen as a communist even if he doesn't fully understand the doctrine foundations. He wants to refuse the help from government. Monk and government are working together to give food to poor villagers. Evan Luang Pho Buddha statue is magically giving advice to the abbot, Sompan, as sometimes he has also doubts ansd weaknesses. Kwen, the red communist, helps villagers and challenges the local power regarding debt cycle and the current society behavior. When Kwen was a child, he was friend (สหาย) with Sompan. Kwen believes that religion is hurt by the politics as they are too close. The government uses the Buddhist religion as an ally. Both Sompan, the abbot, and Kwen, the red communist, want to help poor people but not in the same way. The abbot is seen as a traitor (ทรยศ) by the communists. The rain finally comes. Kwen thinks that religion is only helping people when they are hungry in order that later they do donations to the temple. A Chinese moneylender, called Sia, is present in the village. The villagers believe time has arrived and that communist rebellion will happen. They plan to get weapons and arrest the monks. Kwen warns his friend Sompan but he refuses to leave. Finally the rebellion was only a falso rumour. Tom is one of Kwen's partisan. Tom doesn't want to ordain 15 days but finally accepts to ease his aging mother (ไม่นับถือศาสนา). Sompan is first reluctant to accept. Another Kwen's partisan, Thip, causes trouble. Thip’s girlfriend, Kathiem, is three months pregnant. Kathiem would like to follow up traditions but Thip refuses (ไม่ย่อมแต่ง) to follow as traditions are a threat to own liberty (เสรี). Love shall prevail over traditions. Finally the wedding happens. On top of this Tom is not willing to disrobe. So Kwen is angry with Sompan (หลอกชาวบ้าน). A fake monk raises belief into spirits in order to get money from villagers but he is expelled by Sompan. Meanwhile the Chinese moneylender gets some villagers' land and rent it to them! There is still no school in the village. Sompan and Kwen support each other to help financing the school (บริจาค). As the money is not enough, Sompan gives money from the temple to help build the school (โรงเรียนประชาชน). Tom and the subdistrict headman’s daughter like each other so Tom disrobes. Tom's mother has no land anymore as she sold it to get money from the Chinese moneylender. There is an issue to decide on the location of the school. The two villages are separated by a small bridge. A meeting is organized in the Buddhist temple to solve the conflict (โรงเรียนใหม่). The school shall be built on the bridge so it is really in the middle of the two villages. But the soil now belongs to rich moneylender Sia. Sia already agreed with the district Chief Officer to build a dam so arguments raise between Sia and the villagers. The soil transfer is found as illegal as it was not officially stamped. Ruffians come with guns. So the villagers have to flee but Kwen prepares a plan to fight back. Kwen wishes to fight against corrupted officials. Villagers capture Sia and his ruffians during nighttime. Finally a high ranking official recognizes that Sia is a dishonest man and thanks the villagers for their action towards him. The school can now be completed. Collaboration between Kwen and Sompan is finally successful as Kwen accepts to ease down his communist aspirations. In 1990, a Thai TV serie (ละคร) based on the same story was produced This movie has also bee registered as National Heritage per the 2016 list released by the Thai Film Archive.

Wannee is a ลูกครึ่ง or "luk kreung", i.e. half Thai and half foreigner. Her mother is Thai but she doesn't know who is her father. She is staying in an internship who other girls. Her mother, who is a "rented wife" (เมียให้เช่า), visits her from times to times. She is often seen with a different foreigner so many teens laugh at Wannee. Wannee's mother is doing such job to pay for her daughter school. Some of Wannee's friend have also problems, one girl has no official parents, one is half Thai half American from a black US sailor that quit Thailand after Vietnam war. Thirty years ago, half Thai / half foreign kids were not as popular as nowadays. Another girl seems to have a normal family but her parents don't love each other, have no time to get interest in their daughter and just stay together for appearance. Fed up by mockeries, Wannee rejects her mother. Later on, Wannee starts to get blind. She realizes that her mother was finally a good caring mother. Her mother is now dying of an uterus cancer. Why children have to bear with their parents' decisions and mistakes?

In Bar 21, customers can forget their problems thanks to the beautiful ladies and alcohol (มาเที่ยว). Hostess Thida quits her job to stay with her four years boyfriend, Parn. Parn is younger than Thida about five years. She leaves her job to stay in Chiang Mai. Girls working in Bar 21 are called "Partner". Their dream is to be a normal person also but they are often denigrated (ดูถูกผู้หญิง). They need to get money (เกิดมาจน) but can enjoy a certain kind of freedom (เสรี). All are waiting for a new life (ชีวิตที่ดีกว่า), waiting for the day they will quit Bar 21 (ชีวิตใหม่). Linda arrives in Chiang Mai just on time for Parn’s university diploma ceremony. She offers to him a beautiful watch and cash money but Parn seems to have forgotten his promise to marry her when he gets the diploma (จบแล้ว). He refuses to fulfill his promise. He is now a diploma university holder so he cannot marry a “partner” as he has now a certain status (เกียรติ). Despite she pays for his studies and now stops working for him, he refuses this love saying he cannot (ไม่มีบุญคุณ). He took advantage of her during many years. Marrying a “partner” would stain him for the whole life. He doesn't want to offer her a chance of redemption. In the train back to Bangkok, Linda is harassed by three young men taking advantage that she is a “partner” so an "easy" lady. She meets in the train two other young farmers (ทำนา), Sing and Rot, coming from countryside (บ้านนอก) and going to Bangkok to find better jobs. Sing and Rot have arguments and fight with the three young men to protect Linda. Rot is shot. The three young men cannot escape punishment despite one of them, Akom, is a son of parliament member. Linda is back to work in Bar 21. Sing is lost in Bangkok (เมืองหลวง). Sing is hungry and has no money. He meets a little girl living in a slum (สลัม). She is a small robber. Sing helps them to sell opium in the slum. Sing and the family are caught by the police (ผมไม่ผิด). There is analogy between countryside people coming to Bangkok and Linda, the “partner”. They are all doing low cast jobs. Linda meets a son of a rich family, Thanong. He is really nice to her and invites her to his birthday. Linda starts to dream again (อาจเป็นคนนี้). She has a lot of fun (ดื่มเหล้าเก่ง) and happiness during this evening. After the party, Thanong asks her to help his brother Akom, who is now in jail. She should wrongly testify in front of a trial. She understands that everything was a lie. Thanong, ผู้ดี, just tries to use her. As she refuses to lie, strong arguments between values of poor people, “partner” and rich people are bitterly raised. She refuses money offered to her in order to lie. Back home, she is attacked at nighttime by two ruffians. An old man (ท่าน) helps her but he is in fact Akom's father. He succeeds to convince Linda by playing on her motherhood feeling, the possibility to do a good action and become Angel (เทพ) Thida. In the police station Linda accuses Sing. Poor people are in hell and rich people are in heaven because of money difference. Akom's father gives money to thank her but she doesn't want money but social recognition. Sing flees from police station and goes to see Linda so that she tells the truth at the trial. Sing is poor but kind hearted. She accepts as knowing she has been deceived by rich people. As Thanong just visits Linda to abuse her, Thanong and Sing fight. Sing is shot by the police. It is a dark and sad movie about poor and uneducated people abused by rich Bangkokian people. Of course Thanong stops visiting Linda. It is more a showpiece than a social study, the film is nevertheless remembered for its undaunted subjects. The film was not successful at box office but received good reviews and two awards (ตุ๊กตาทอง). It is a drama social move mixed with a musical comedy as many songs are featured. A Thai TV drama serie based on the same story was released in 1990.
