Thai movie ยอดต่อยอด was released in year 1971. This movie was released after Mitr Chaibancha’s death. It is a lost movie and only a long trailer, i.e 10mn30s, is left to see. Thai movie ข้าชื่อจ่าแผน was released in year 1971. First the movie was called วีรกรรมภูขี้เถ้า and started to be advertised / promoted in August 1970. When it was finally released on the market in August 1971, the name was changed to ข้าชื่อจ่าแผน. Two posters are available. It features Sombat Methanee as main actor and Aranya Namwong as main actress. It is a movie in 16mm format so it is in mute state as such format requests live dubbing. The movie is lost in Thailand but a remaining sequence of 1h35mn is still available. Hill tribe Chanee Yotchai is holding a machine gun. Chadaporn Wachirapranee is found kissing Chanee by Sombat so Chanee gets punched and Chadaporn gets scolded. Sor Asanajinda stops them. Hill tribe Krai Kanchit sets side with Chanee. Chadaporn tries to seduce Sor but to no avail. Chanee promises to revenge over Sombat. Aranya is a hill tribe young lady. Chanee and his men embuscade Sombat and Sor but they are pushed back. Chanee becomes the new village leader following a putsch. An army helicopter lands and heavy fighting happens with Chanee's men. Sombat and two friends are kidnapped by a group of village women led by Aranya, who use them as their “toys”. General actor Man Teeraphol is leading the soldiers. As the ladies throw their clothes away, the three men have to wear Tarzan clothes. The ladies end up in bikini also. Fighting happens with ruffians. They try to release the village leader but without success. One of Sombat’s friends loses his girlfriend, being raped and killed by ruffians. Kaenjai Meenakanit is the real leader of the ruffians. She likes Sombat. Sombat has to be very careful as Chanee knows who he is. One of Sombat’s friend disguises himself into a weird Chinese master. Aranya and her girls are captured while trying to meet Sombat. Krai changes side. Final heavy fightings happen. Krai and Chanee shot each other. Chadaporn, who holds a timer bomb, throws herself on Kaenjai as she understands she has been dumped by Chanee and Kaenjai.

แม่ย่านาง is a 1970 movie in VCD format featuring a still colorful picture and lasting 1h54mn. An additional 30mn reel (the reel number 2) is available through a Thai collector. Young lady Prang (Sopha Sataporn) is waiting for Jiaw (เด็กวัด) to give alms (ตักบาตร) to the monks but he doesn't come today. Jiaw (Mitr Chaibancha) is a temple boy with a kind heart (ใจบุญ) so seeing Jom and his friends trying to steal money donated to the temple, he tries to prevent them to rob money to buy alcohol. Unfortunately he gets accused by Jom so the abbot believes he is the robber. Jiaw is chased from the temple. He decides to sell food (ขายของ) with his two friends by navigating on a boat on river and canals. A mysterious spirit Mae Ya Nang (ผีหลอก) (Pissamai Wilaisak) on the boat bow helps them to get business. Jae (Kaenjai Meenakanit), a shop vendor, likes Jiaw a lot but he is not interested. Sithao Petcharoen has issues with his wife as she doesn’t accept he has mistresses. Prang is seen as a young sister (น้องสาว) only by Jiaw. Jiaw seems to love his boat more than anything else despite strong interest from Jae and Prang. Jae is under a charm (ถูกเสน่ห์). A local villager has recruited a black magician (Lor Tok)(หมอผี) to make a love philter to seduce Jae. As uncle Man (พฤหัส บุญหลง - Preuhat Boonlong) breaks the spell, the black magician tries to kill uncle Man. As it fails, he sends Jom and his team protected by magic tattoos. Once again the spirit Mae Ya Nang (แม่ย่านางเรือ) protects Jiaw. In a previous life, the mysterious lady and Jiaw knew each other. The mysterious lady was a princess (ลูกหญิง). As the King's boat (พระองค์) was attacked by pirates, the King ordered Jiaw to take away the princess and to protect her. Jom, who was the head of soldiers, was treacherous to his King and killed him. Sor Asanajinda is the father of Jom. Before dying, Jiaw's friend succeeded to reach him and told the truth about Jom. Spade fighting happened between Jom and Jiaw. Jiaw won and Jom died (ทรยศ). The princess didn't trust the uncle Sor and asked Jiaw to organise their escape. Jiaw was split between his love to the princess and the love to the kingdom. The uncle Sor asked him to leave to preserve the princess. As he finally refused, he was killed by a guard. Knowing his death, the princess got suicide. Back to the present, the black magician sends Jom to kill Jiaw and the uncle Man. Prang and Jae are kidnapped by the black magician (อาจารย์). Jiaw shall avoid any bad actions (จ้องเวร จ้องกรรม) to hope being reunited with the princess one day. Jom kills the black magician as he made a love philter for himself to seduce Jae and Prang instead of doing it for Jom. Through a final fight with Jom, Jiaw is killed while protecting the abbot (in fact the king in a previous life) with his own body. Jiaw failed to protect the King in his previous life but in this life, he saves the monk. Jiaw and the princess are reunited in heaven. The 1h54mn movie is really great but the additional 30mn reel reveals additional details of the movie: Jae is upset that Jiaw prefers to sleep on the boat than with her. Jiaw helps to prevent a kidnapping of Jae. Sithao suggests Jom to visit the black magician to get spells. He is a bad guy always trying to abuse for his own purpose people asking for love philter. Through a sexy scene with an unknown veteran actress, the black magician makes a love philtre to seduce her instead of doing one for her to seduce back her husband Sithao. It is highly probable that this scene would have been cut on any VCD release. Seeing the power of love filters, they recommend the black magician to the villager trying to seduce Jae. As old movies were long, each actor / actress always had the opportunity to have his own long scene to please his fans. It is also very frequent to see Thai people onlookers in outdoor scenes such as market. It was additional potential customers to come watching in cinema to see if they were in the movie! The original movie features 5 songs but the DVD only features 1 song.

Kan (Sombat Methanee), a policeman, shoots Saen's father, who is smuggling illegal goods. Saen (Kecha Plianvithee) wishes to avenge his father. He invites Kan for a birthday party and drugs him. When Kan wakes up, a dead man is found near him. Kan is accused of murder and is sent ten years in jail. Kan promises to use a baton (คมแฝก) and not a gun anymore for his revenge. After ten years, Kan is back but his family is torn apart. He wishes to revenge against the mafia leader (เจ้าพ่อ) Saen. Sithao Petcharoen and his wife are bar owners. Taprao (Metta Roongrat) is their daughter. Kan's father is dead but Kan is still looking for his mother, his wife Dokmai and his sister Kalog. Dokmai (Kaenjai Meenakanit) is now Saen's wife. Krai Kanchit is a new policeman in the city. Sukon Koewliam, an undertaker (สัปเหร่อ), supports Kan. Kan enters Saen's house to find his mother and sister. Achan (Aranya Namwong), Saen's younger sister, promises to help but she finally betrays him. Kan is captured by Saen. Feeling guilty, Achan releases him. Kan takes refuge in the undertaker’s home. Pleung (Luechai Natnat) arrives in the city and ends up in Sithao's bar. A new ruffian Fai (มือดี)(เพชร พิษณุ) arrives in Saen's team. Kan declares his love to Achan. Ruj Ronnapop (ขายยา) warns Kan about the new hitman. Kan bewares of Fai and Pleung despite Ruj confirms Fai is finally on their side. Fai is Pleung’s younger brother. Fighting happens between Kan, Ruj, Pleung and Saen's men in Sithao's bar. Police has to intervene. Saen wishes to hire Pleung. While simulating being a movie dubber, Ruj finds weapons hidden in wooden crates. He meets Kalog (Sasithorn Phetrung). Kan sends a grenade to destroy the weapons stock as Saen plans to hurt Thailand. Police inspector Krai comes to arrest Saen but another teammate pretends the weapons belong to him. Achan warns Kalog, younger sister of Kan, about Saen's activities. Kalog succumbs to Ruj. Robbery of a house is failing, and a few ruffians are killed. Saen suspects Kalog is the one disclosing his activities schedule to Kan. Her mother tries to intervene but she is killed. Achan discloses that she is the one warning Kan. Saen and his men storm Sithao's bar. Kan is knocked out. As Saen cannot shoot a man sleeping, he closes his eyes before firing. Dokmai interposes and she is the one being shot. Upset, Saen defies Kan and his friends as he kidnapped the three ladies. Saen, Fai and Ruj go to release them but they have to surrender. It is disclosed that Kan is new chief district and both Fai and Rj being undercover policemen. Caretaker Sukon Koewliam is ordered to prepare three coffins. Kan and his friends have to prepare their own graves (ฝังตัวเอง). Sithao helps to release the ladies and gives them guns. Sukon bring back coffins containing policemen. Shooting happens between policemen and ruffians. Saen finally causes his stock of dynamite to explode as his cigar falls on it. Pleung character played by Luechai Natnat disappears after a while during the movie. It is said it was killed. Maybe there was a conflict between Luechai Natnat and the producer / director so the character Pleung has to be removed.

Two ruffians (including Pan Borapet) working for subdistrict headman Phet makes joke about him and his relationship with Kratin. A fight occurs, and ruffians get beaten by Dio and Jamroon. They complain to subdistrict headman Phet but as Tan saw them, then Phet knows that both are lying and were looking for troubles first. They quit their work and promise to get revenge towards Dio. Plok (Choomporn Theppitak) wishes Tan to become his wife. He plans to abuse her with the help of the ruffians chased by Phet. Once abused (เสียแล้ว), he will ask for her hand and subdistrict headman Phet cannot refuse. Ladders to climb palm trees are damaged. Dio and Jamroon suspect the ruffians. One evening, Jamroon, being drunk, have arguments with Plok and his men. He gets severely beaten. Plok’s father is played by Sawin Sawangrat. Tamleung (Kaenjai Meenakanit) is another lady fond of Dio. Annual festival (งานประจำปี) occurs and features a boat race. Plok tries to kidnap Tan (ลูกตาล) but Dio helps her on time. Plok and his father have to apologize to subdistrict headman Phet and his daughter. Subdistrict headman Phet wishes to give money to Dio as a reward but he refuses. Dio and Tan declare love to each other. Kut, also loving Tan, has even a fight with Dio but recognises he was wrong to fight against his friend. Being jealous, Kratin complains to subdistrict headman Phet to break Dio and Tan relationship. Tan gets beaten by her father and is locked in her room. Dio escapes beating thanks to her mother but he loses his job in the orchard. They have to leave. Dio visits Tan in her room and they become lovers. About to leave by boat, Tan also comes and announces she is leaving her father as she loves Dio and is now his wife. Kratin and Kut are heartbroken. Dio and Tan take refuge in a relative home. Plok and his father announce to subdistrict headman Phet that they will help to find where Dio and Tan are hiding. Dio and Tan move to a relative's place, being a village leader called Duang. His wife, Mae Sri, is upset and afraid to have problems with subdistrict headman Phet so Dio, Tan and the mother move to Bangkok. Plok decides to kidnap Kratin in order to know where Dio is hiding. His father wishes to have Kratin becoming his minor wife. The issue turns badly as other ruffians fight with the father over Kratin. The father dies and Kut is able to release his sister. Life is harsh in Bangkok and Dio has to be tricycle and taxi driver. A child is born. After two years, they finally move back to Duang's place. Mae Sri informs subdistrict headman Phet, who kidnaps his own daughter with Plok's help. Dio, upset, goes to subdistrict headman Phet's house bringing his son. Phet refuses to Dio to see his wife and pushes him severely out. Hearing that Plok plans to rob subdistrict headman Phet’s house at night time by claiming being Dio, Dio has to help. One of his friends warns the police. Plok is killed during the fightings. Seeing that Dio is finally a good and brave man, sub district headman Phet agrees to an official wedding of Dio and Tan.

Ruffians capture a man fleeing with a suitcase. Two important letters inside have disappeared from the suitcase when he hit a group of three people while running away. Those people are a father (Surasit Sattayawong), his daughter Fimeuang (Pawana Chanajit) and their friend (Joomjim Khemlek). Those letters are related to their plan to bring troubles from overseas into South of Thailand (คนขายชาติ). Sak (Prachuap Ruekyamdee) and inspector (สารวัตร) Cheut (Sombat Methanee) meet the 3 characters in Nakhon Sawan and sympathize. Ruffians try everything to get back those letters but Sak and Cheut support them. Cheut communicates with his Police Headquarters through young lady Nop (Yaowaret Nisakorn also called Petchara 2). Ramet (Kecha Plianvithee), undercover ruffians leader, tries to seduce Dao (Aranya Namwong) but she doesn't like him. Ramet is a good friend of Krit (Ruj Ronnapop), Dao's brother, as he can always borrow money to him for gambling (พนัน). Cheut also appreciates Dao. Fimeuang and her father take refuge in Chiang Mai. Finally Fimeuang understands that Cheut is a right and trusty man, so she gives him the envelopes. Fimeuang loves secretly Cheut and goes back to Surin. Cheut’s heart is divided between Dao, Fimeuang and Nop. Cheut is captured by the ruffians. Finally Sak helps him on time. Ramet is captured but finally later on free again so it looks like a part of the movie is missing. Willing to get back the letters, the ruffians capture Fimeuang and her friend Kamoon. The father shall give back the letters back to Ramet to save his daughter’s life. Policeman Cheut, Sak and Nop help to penetrate the ruffians’ camp. Dao and Chris also realize who is Ramet while visiting the camp and find that Fimeuang is held captured there. During final shootings, Fimeuang is unfortunately shot. Ruffians are defeated. Movie พยัคฆ์เหนือ เสืออิสาน ยมบาลใต้ is a mix of action and comedy. This small movie really features a great bunch of Thai actors and Thai actresses from decade 1960s.

This Thai spy movie starts very similary to “Impossible Mission” TV serie with tapes giving instructions. Jiep (Adul Dulyarat), expert in explosives, finds Saen (Surasit Sattayawong) in Ayuthaya. They need to find Nin (Mitr Chaibancha) in Bangkok, handsome guy and always butterflying with ladies. They have to do a secret mission related to Thailand and to complete within one month. Target is to neutralise a dangerous secret organisation (เวียดนามเหนือ). They need to find a fourth teammate (number 46) in Udon Thani. Guerrilla group soldiers (ทหารป้า) are terrorising villagers by burning their houses and even killing them. Kaneung Ha (Sopha Sataporn) is the group leader. Saree (Metta Roongrat) has been forcefully enrolled. When her parents are killed, she finally deserts. The three men finds Saree burying her parents. She accepts to join them in order to show where the guerilla is hiding. They spend one night in a villager house. This one informs the guerilla of the group presence. They flee on time but Saen doesn't trust Saree anymore and tries to kill her (ทรยศ). Kaneung Ha recruits strong men in villages by luring them with beautiful ladies (Kaenjai Meenakanit). Nin and his two friends succeed to be recruited. Kaneung Ha believes the three men are spies from government (ศัตรู) so they get tortured. Finally Kaneung Ha has pity on them. Meanwhile police is sending officers disguised in clowns (Prachuap Ruekyamdee). Saree offers her help too (ร่วมมือ). The three men receive orders to kill the three policemen and Saree in order to prove their obedience to the organisation. Two guards shall oversee the mission. The three men capture the three policemen following a tacit agreement. Following their first mission success, the big boss sends them to Udon to make airport details recording. Yot is jealous of Nin as he knows Kaneung Ha starts to love him. The big boss is trusting now the three men and shows them the missiles stored in the base. Nin declares his love to Kaneung Ha. Saree helps the three policemen to flee. Nin defeats Yot in one to one fight. Police is back with many men. Meanwhile Jiep tries to neutralize the missiles. Nin brings Kaneung Ha with him before the explosion. Police faces strong opposition before reaching the base. Kaneung Ha is the real number 46 they were looking for. She helps Nin to fight the traitors. Finally the missiles are destroyed and the ruffians are all captured. The movie has still colorful and good quality image. It is a 2h27mn movie and the VCD is almost full. In those 1960s movies, no direct kisses are shown. Mitr kisses Sopha but still prudery happens. Like many 1960s action movies, ทรชนเดนตาย film (1969) has a nationalist trend.

The daughter Dylis is kidnapped. Captain Rowland attends a Police conference in Bangkok and met Thai policeman Chana Sriubon. The mother wishes to hire a German private detective called Jo Walker to find her daughter. Kaenjai Meenakanit tries to get rid of Rowland but she fails. Three men including Pan Borapet try to kill Jo after he lands in Bangkok but they fail as Rowland helps him on time. There is a secret organization as each man has a tattoo with three interlaced snakes. Jo escapes to poisoning by an air hostess. Girls who fail are sent to a mysterious remote island... Jo and Rowland visit Andrew, an expert in oriental culture, to learn more on this secret gang. Andrew is in fact one of the secret leader. Jo Walker uses gadget to get rid of opponents. Girls are drugged through opium on the remote island and then forced to prostitution. Kaenjai Meenakanit drugs Jo but captain Rowland helps on time again. As captain Rowland is coming to help, she prevents Andrew to kill him. Madam Kimso (Wilaiwan Watthanaphanit), rich lady, managing a charity, is the one behind the secret island’s dirty business. She has a farm of crocodiles protecting the island. ทองฮะ วงศ์รักไทย is the one bringing foreigners on the island. Jo takes the risk to be drugged in order to reach the island. Knowing she will get rid of Jo, Madam Kimso shows him the secret of the island. Thai army gets the location of the island and sends parachutists there. Rowland helps his friend Jo on time. Madam Kimso is arrested and the daughter Dylis is released.

The action takes place in a territory at the edge of Thailand and Burma. A tiger spirit (วิญญาณเสือสมิง) is possessing the body of a young girl called Kinari. They accuse the young girl to be responsible of the village head's son death. They wish to burn the dead body and the young girl. Hopefully a monk is able to calm them down. The young girl and her grandmother agree to move to Burma to ease villagers. When the young girl will be 20 years old, the fearful tiger spirit will be definitively exorcised. She cannot remove the protective necklace that the monk gave her until she is 20 years old. They find refuge in a catholic mission for 10 years but they miss Thailand. Her grandmother asks her not to forget Buddhism. They finally come back to the village in her 19th year. A young man tries to rape Kinari while she bathes in a waterfall. As she has removed her necklace and anger pops up, she becomes a tiger (เสือ) and kills him. Villagers know Kinari is back. The grandmother is sick. Kinari needs to find a doctor (หมออนามัย). The doctor arrives too late and the grandmother dies. The doctor promises to take care about Kinari. Meanwhile the village leader wishes to burn Kinari to chase definitively the spirit away. Saenkam, a villager, doesn’t want to let Kinari leave as he loves her. Kinari and the doctor Nopalit finally succeed to flee. Nopalit brings back Kinari (คนป่า) to his home in Bangkok but she is not welcomed by the mother. Dao, the doctor's fiance, doesn't welcome her also. Dao has another boyfriend Leutchai already so she is lying to Nopalit. The mother and Dao always try to humiliate Kinari as she is not coming from high society (ผู้ดี). The doctor buys Kinari a golden necklace but she is worried to remove her necklace as the tiger spirit might be back. Dao starts to be worried that Kinari has much more qualities than her. Dao hires a tramp to rape Kinari but he is seriously injured as Kinari becomes a tiger spirit again. Saenkam, the villager, still loves Kinari and reaches Bangkok. Kinari is going to be 20 years old. Today is her birthday. The mother offers a diamond necklace for her birthday and throws away the protective necklace. On the birthday party while the doctor is away, Dao slaps Kinari causing the demon inside her to be back. Following an ultimate fight, Saengkam gives back the necklace to Kinari and injures fatally Leutchai. This later shot back killing Saengkam and Dao through a lost bullet. As it is midnight already, the spell is gone and the tiger spirit has disappeared inside Kinari’s body so the mother cannot prove that Kinari is a demon. Kinari and Nopalit can now live happily together. Parts of this old 2h20 movie are really damaged.

Kangwan (กังวาน) and Karaket (การะเกด) meet each other in a Buddhist temple at night time. Kangwan, young and rich bachelor, is studying magic and ghosts knowledge (วิชาชุบชีวิต). Karaket brings flowers to her mother grave, Nang Sopha. Ladies O and Karaket are half sisters, i.e. same father but different mothers. O's mother was the main wife. Karaket's mother, Nang Sopha, was the minor wife (เมียน้อย). Kangwan's father and the two daughters' father agreed to have Kangwan marry one of the two daughters. O and her mother are jealous towards Karaket especially as Kangwan has more interest into Karaket than into O. The mother decides to have Karaket killed. She is already responsible of Karaket's mother death twenty years ago by poisoning. The mother and her maid try to poison Karaket's drinking water. Nang Sopha ghost protects her daughter but no killing shall be done to avoid adding more sins to her karma (กรรม). The poisoning attempt fails thanks to the ghost intervention. The bad mother then uses a monk to purify the house and install a sacred thread around the house to prevent ghosts from entering. Kangwan has to go to India to continue his studies. Meanwhile the bad mother attempts another trial to kill Karaket by putting a snake inside a box. This time due to sacred tread (สายสิญจน์) the ghost cannot help her and she dies following the snake bite. Kangwan is at Taj Mahal when Karaket's spirit asks for help. It is time for judgement in hell and Phra Yom (God of the underworld) takes Karaket with him. Kangwan has to fulfill the earlier promise between both families and is forced to marry O. But thanks to his knowledge in white magic, his soul (วิญญาณ) goes to hell to pick up Karaket and brings her back in the living world. The trueness behind Karaket's death is known. The mother sizes a gun and kills her maid, who has revealed the truth, and is strangled by Nang Sopha ghost before being able to kill Karaket a second time. Kangwan and Karaket can marry happily. In this old movie, there are typical dog howlings to indicate ghosts coming and Fx effect are limited to images superposition for ghosts apparition. This great old 1960s movie with superstars Mitr Chaibancha and Petchara Chaowara is typical of old Thai movies with the bad girl (นางอิจฉา) trying everything to be the main actor's girlfriend and always trying to get rid of the leading actress (นางเอก).

During World War 2, a man betrays his country (ขายชาติ) and even kills his wife Narinee as she refuses to keep silent. The father then disappears. His own daughter flees and is rescued by a young man called Boripat, who put her in a well off family. She is renamed Lamphap. A few years have passed. Lamphap (Suthisa Putnuch) is a beautiful grown up lady. Boripat plans to become deputy (ผู้แทน) in Phatalung province. Boripat and Lamphap love each other. Cheutchalao (Kaenjai Meenakanit), a jealous lady who wishes to marry Boripat, shows to Boripat’s mother a picture of Lamphap’s mother. Is it good that Boripat as a future deputy marry a country traitor? Following a night with Boripat, Lamphap flees away as she is ashamed of her background. Boripat looks for her. When he is aware of her parents’ background, he breaks up with her and finally marries Cheutchalao. Lamphap is followed by her father's bad reputation. Boripat has become a member of parliament. Cheutchalao introduces Khun Yousapong (Prachuap Ruekyamdee), who is a salesman, to Boripat. Boripat needs to pay back the funding he receives from him through some sales advantages with government projects. Boripat rejects and resigns as he refuses to betray his own principles. Cheutchalao is very upset as Yousapong is in fact her hidden lover. She even refuses to keep the child she is currently having with Boripat! Cheutchalao has an argument with Boripat’s mother causing her to fall from the stairs and dies. Boripat then indulged in alcohol and, being sick, decides to die in the place he met Lamphap the first time. He dies in her arms. Kenang is the child born of their brief union. Many years have passed. A young lady called Pen (Pawana Chanajit) stops by the village due to a flat tyre and is helped by Kenang (คนป้า). Pen is daughter of the salesman Yousapong. Salesman is still with stepmother (แม่เลี้ยง) Cheutchalao. Yousapong has always been concerned about money only (ไม่รู้ค่าความรัก). Pen dances on a show and displays her great dancing performing skills (รำไทย) to pay back his father as studies compensation. She gets a reward and wishes to offer it to Lamphap but Cheutchalao prevents her to do it as Lamphap is daughter of a country traitor (เป็นกรรม). Chatkalin, Lamphap’s second son (Choomporn Theppitak) doesn't want anybody to mention he is Lamhap's son anymore as he wished to marry Pen. He is in fact Boripat and Cheutchalao's son. Cheutchalao left the child in an orphanage and Lamphap, having pity, raised him. Well off people (ผู้ดี), having status, are seeing down poor people. As a revenge Kenang kidnaps Pen and brings her to a remote place near seaside. Chatkalin burns Lamphap's house as retaliation. Kenang, having finally freed Pen, arrives on time to save his mother. Following a fight with Chatkalin, a passer-by is shot. They all accuse Kenang. Lamphap chases everybody. A policeman offers her an opportunity to clean her name but she has to give information regarding the secret place where her traitor father and his team are hiding. After reaching the place in the mountain, Lamphap’s father wished to test her if she is not a spy. She shall kill her own son, Kenang, as he has been accused by Cheutchalao, Chatkalin and Yousapong of having killed the father’s own son, i.e. the passer-by. Only Pen defends Kenang. Lamphap has to do a sacrifice (เสียสละ), i.e. Kenang’s life against the four other lives (Cheutchalao, Chatkalin, Yousapong, Pen). Finally one of the ruffians revolts for the sake of his country preventing Lamphap to make an impossible choice. Bad characters are punished. Some episodes were cut in this Lepso VCD release, i.e. one episode where Sombat Methanee is singing and another climax episode when the ruffian forces the mother (Suthisa Putnuch) to shoot her own son (Sombat Methanee) but finally changes his mind. Sombat Methanee plays both the father Boripat and the son Kenang. This 1960s movie shows that faithfulness to country is more important that faithfulness to own family. It is typical of many 1960-1970s movies, which featured nationalist elements against the red communist threat. พญาโศก is a less known good movie from famous director Cherd Songsri. It also includes many references to the Thai royalty.

Patheut (Mitr Chaibancha) is the son of village leader Thong. He is just back after many years away from his village. He is mistaken as a robber by Chat (Anucha Ratanaman), local subdistrict headman, and his sister Baanyen. A local influential man (พ่อกำนัน), Meun Phan, terrorizes the population (เขามีอิทธิพล) with his thugs. Thong has also a daughter called Choompu. Cheung, son of Meun Phan, wishes to marry Choompu but she refuses. Rampha (Petchara) is the daughter of Meun Phan. Boonnga (Kaenjai Meenakanit) is the young wife of Meun Phan. Rampha wishes her father to stop acting this way but he rejects her requests. She asks help from Boonnga but without success. Patheut has arguments in a cafe with thugs but a young man called Chai (Choomporn Theppitak) gives him a hand. Rampha asks to stop the fighting so Patheut meets her for the first time. Ruffians put a bomb in Chat's car. Luckily Chat and Patheut escape to death as a thug robs their car and dies in the explosion. Patheut finally understands that Rampha has a good personality (ดีมาก) and is not same as her father. Rampha promises to help Patheut but Patheut needs to promise not to harm her father. Meun Phan suspects Boonnga to have a hidden lover. Ruffians kidnapp Choompu despite Chat's resistance. Thanks to Patheut and Chai, she is released. Choompu and Baanyen find the thugs' hidden refuge but get captured again. Ruffian leader Meun Phan orders to kill Chat and Thong (ปล้นบ้าน). Boonnga tells to Chai where the secret centre is. Chat and Chai release them again. Boonnga is shot by a thug. Police is surrounding the camp. Meun Phan is killed as he understands, thanks to Rampha, that he is taken the wrong path betraying his own country but it is too late to change side and to warn the police. Chai is in fact part of the border police (ตำรวจชายแดน). Following fierce fighting, ruffians are all killed or captured. Patheut is in fact the new district-chief officer (นายอำเภอคนใหม่). This movie is part of nationalist trend movies during decade 1960s with highlights on protecting Thai soil against potential invaders. The movie “จอมคน” was shot in Trat area and was released in year 1969. It lasts 1h47mn. It is still a colorful movie but it is incomplete as some parts are missing.

Thida (Petchara Chaowarat ) is the daughter of village headman Lao Song. Krai seems to play a double game. Maew Daeng guerilla embuscades Chat Chao Praya in the jungle. Kundong helps Chat Chao Praya but gets captured. Following shootings, Chat Chao Praya is injured but succeeds to escape. He is cured by Thida. During a village fair, the guerilla (มือปืน) shoots villagers. Chat Chao Praya gets rid of them and is brought to the attention of Thida's father, Lao Song. The left sequence ends here.

Heun and his friends push back ruffians attacking a village. Kaenchai shots one ruffian leaders but gets shot also. Heun releases Busaba, who has been captured by ruffians. All friends are arrested by the police. As usual, it is disclosed at the end of the movie that Heun is in fact undercover policeman officer when all ruffians has been neutralized. Busaba is upset but finally forgives Heun. The movie producer was famous director Tae Prakardwutthisan. The movie was given by Tae Prakardwutthisan to Thai Film Archives but it was never released commercially. The movie features 4 songs recorded in 35mm format. Comics are strongly present with veteran actors Sompong Phonmitr, Kokheng, Sukon Koewliam and Joomjim Khemlek.

Thai movie เนื้อคู่ , released in 1968, is considered as a lost movie but three partial parts can still be found, i.e. a four minutes trailer made in fact of various reels assemblage, the movie first ten minutes and a behind the screen sequence of the movie lasting 11 minutes. Many famous Thai actors are playing in this movie, i.e. Choomporn Theppitak, Adul Dulyarat, Metta Roongrat, Sukon Koewliam. Athip (Mitr Chaibancha), a teacher, and Pinkaew (Kaenjai Meenakanit) has to flee as Pinkaew's father, Khun Phra, refuses to recognize their love. They have a child, i.e. a boy, and are living on countryside. One night during a storm, the rich family father comes to get back his daughter and grandchild. Athip tries to oppose but is severely beaten. If Pinkaew doesn't follow up, then Athip would be killed so she has no choice. Mitr Chaibancha plays two roles, i.e. the father with a moustache and his own son who becomes a doctor (หมอใจดี) after being sent abroad for study. The father forces her daughter Pinkaew to marry with an influential military figure called Awut. Pinphet, younger sister of Pinkaew, has a lover called Thuanthong, who is a ruffian and also younger brother of Awut. As Thuanthong is running out of money, he steals Khun Phra's money and even shoots him. Athip, looking for his son, gets accused of the murder. Athip's son is sent to internship. Twenty years have passed. Pinkaew and Awut has three children. Athip's son is now a grown adult and is now called doctor Phet. As Pinphet was not rich, so Thuanthong has married with a lady who got an illegitimate child with Awut. This child is Maenu played by new actress Uraiwan Ngambunseup, who was a Thai miss. Second part of the movie is about the love story of doctor Phet and Maenu including confrontations with Pinkaew, Awut and their children. This part of the story couldn't be found.

Insee Daeng is the famous vigilant hero that appears during decade 1960s in Thailand. When Rom wears a red mask, he becomes Insee Daeng. One night, Rom simulates being drunk in a nightclub but Wassana, his girlfriend, is taking care of him. Nobody never thought that Rom, often seen drunk, can be Insee Daeng. They meet influent wealthy man (พ่อเลี้ยง) called Sombun. Following an altercation between Rom and some ruffians, Sombun is found stabbed with a knife featuring a skull pommel. A mysterious organisation signs its crimes with this specific knife. Police inspector Montree and his subordinate Chat are investigating. They are looking for the ruffians and try to catch Saeng, their supposed leader, but he succeeds to flee. At nighttime the mysterious organization also tries to stab the police inspector (สารวัตร) Montree. Chat doesn’t like Insee Daeng but the police inspector Montree admits he is useful for the society (ผิดแต่มีประโยชน์สำหรับสังคม) but his duty is still to catch him. Insee Daeng finds one of the ruffian and follows him to a big house. A mysterious woman is found stabbed there. Chat has a fight there with Insee Daeng but is defeated. Chat believes the murderer is Insee Daeng but mysteriously the body has disappeared. The house is owned by a wealthy man called Thiem. Rom disguises himself as a ruffian named Sing in order to infiltrate the organisation. He found that Thiem is one of the head (นาย) of the ruffians. Sing claims he is coming from the South of Thailand and that he is fleeing the police. Sing accepts to work for Thiem (คนของฉัน). Sing speaks a lot and is not appreciated by other ruffians. A social party is organized. Rom, Wassana and the policemen meet Chamanchai Suk, a powerful businessman. Another businessman is killed during the party. Montree and Chat are captured while trying to catch the killers. Hopefully a mysterious masked heroine frees them on time and gives them the address of a storage place containing heroine. Thiem asks Sing to get back an important letter. He goes there as Insee Daeng and succeeds thanks again to the help of the mysterious masked heroine. Thiem is pleased with Sing and would like him to join (สมาชิก) the mysterious organisation (ชาติชั่ว) called “Dead demon” (ภูตมรณะ). Sing meets Kanda (Preeya Roongrueng), a dangerous beautiful sexy lady working for Thiem. Oh Oh is the big boss but nobody ever saw his face. While visiting ‘Blue Birds’ bar, the two policemen are captured again. Chat shall be drown slowly and Montree’s death shall be disguised as an accidental fall from a building. Hopefully Insee Daeng can help them on time as Sing is now member of the organisation. Finally internal conflicts cause the failure of the organisation. Kanda surrenders to the Police and gives them the address of the hidden lair. The movie ends with various gun fights involving Montree, Chat, Insee Daeng and the ruffians. Oh Oh, who is in fact Chamanchai Suk, is also shot. The mysterious masked heroine is Wassana. The police failed once again to catch Insee Daeng. The movie (Lepso Studio VCD version) has a damaged picture with lack of colors but the Phanmitr DVD version has been remastered so offering a very good quality. It reminds of 1960s decade movies involving mysterious organizations such as James Bond movies with Sean Connery or Fantômas with Jean Marais. There is a very good performance from Mitr Chaibancha as he is playing three roles (Rom, Insee Daeng and Sing). It is a long movie, i.e. around 2h20.

Seup (Sombat Methanee) and his friend Kom disguised as a fake Indian are doing illegal medium activities. As Kom and Seup have misbehaved, they need to accept a mission proposed by the Police. She has to stay in the same room as Kom and Seup. It is difficult for Kom and Seup to remain insensible to Chompoo's attractiveness. They are all going to the beach. Many comic situations happen as some old men (Sukon Koewliam) want to try to seduce Kom and Seup. Rung and Kan are missing love as the grandmother hates men. Seup takes profit to be closer to Rung. Chompoo helps to kidnap the grandmother and asks for 500 000 baht ransom. Rung and her friends bring the ransom but then are also captured. Kom called the police before to warn them about the location. It seems that Choompu has been mislead. During the fight with ruffians, fake hair falls so Seup's real male identity is disclosed. Seup is actually an undercover police captain (ผู้กอง)! Three weddings including the three female characters can then happily happen! Sida and Nuan have to live under a bridge. Sida becomes blind following a car accident involving Ramet. Wan, aware of this, takes care of Sida. Net, Wan's official fiancee, is jealous and hires the domestic helper to cause Sida to fall from a cliff. Hopefully Wan helps Sida on time. On Sophee's birthday, Nuan and Sida visit her but she is not happy to see them and asking them to stop visiting her. Altercation happens and Sophee pushes Sida, whose head hits a pillar. She ends up at hospital again. Meanwhile Sophee and Panong promise love to each other. Malin, fed up by Sophee and Panong, throws acid to their faces. Luckily Sopha recovers her sight while Sophee is disfigured. She asks for mercy to Sida and Nuan. She decides to become a nun. This movie highlights that doing good always pays off while doing bad always ends up sadly.

Only the first and last film reels are left. So it is difficult to understand accurately the whole story. Prachuap Ruekyamdee is Petchara’s close friend. In a village on the countryside, Petchara Chaowarat catches Lor Tok trying to get fishes in their field. Sukon Koewliam is also having another comic role in the village. A grandfather in a wheel chair is talking to his son in Bangkok. As he is going old, he needs to prepare his succession. Petchara is his hidden granddaughter with another woman. The rich family siblings doesn't want her to receive anything. Anucha Rattanamarn is fiance with Kaenjai Meenakanit. They prepare a plan to disinherit Petchara. Mitr Chaibancha, the grandson, is offering flowers to the grandfather. There is a carnival in the village. Adul Dulyarat, a mysterious rich man, meets with Petchara. Petchara and Kaenchai meet also. She gives her a letter. What is inside the letter? Certainly a letter in which Petchara shall reject her rights to the heritage. Later on, Adul wants Petchara to sign a letter but she refuses so he slaps her. Adul threatens her mother to force Petchara to sign the letter. Meanwhile Mitr and Ruekyamdee enter secretly in the house where Petchara is held prisoner in order to help her. Shootings happen with ruffians but Thai police arrive on time to catch Adul. There is an important meeting to open heritage documents at the same time. Petchara arrives on time before the final signature! The grandfather was kept in the dark regarding Petchara by his own family but they all got arrested by police for forgery. This story takes place during Ayuthaya period around 1530. It is about politics regarding three kingdoms, i.e. Taungoo - ตองอู (Burma), Phrae (Thailand) and Hongsawadee - หงสาวดี (Mon). It relates the fabulous destiny of Sadet (จะเด็ด) (Chaiya Suriyun). One day he will become King Bayinnaung (พระเจ้าบุเรงนอง), Burmese King, known as "The Conqueror of Ten Directions" as his empire extended up to a big part of Southeast Asia including Thailand. When he was a baby, a monk promised to Sadet a bright future. He was brought up by a royal wet nurse in Kingdom of Taungoo. Mingyinyo (พระเจ้าเมงจีโย) was the King of Taungoo from 1486 to 1531. Sadet becomes very close with King Mingyinyo's children, i.e. Mangtra, the son, and Chantra (จันทรา), the daughter. Sadet is brave, has a nice presence, speaks well so all ladies like him and fall in love with him. Sadet needs to be separated from princess Chantra. He is surprised with Chantra in his room. Their different social status doesn't allow such behavior. He leaves for Hongsawadee. Mangtra wants Sadet to speak to princess Thavadee on his behalf. Princess Thavadee loves Sadet also despite Sadet's attempts to tell how good Mangtra is. Sopinya, Princess Thavadee's brother, is angry with Sadet's behavior and would prefer to have Mangtra as brother-in-law. Khairoo, head of Hongsawadee swordmen, prepares a plan. Jewelry is stolen and found in Sadet's room. Sadet has to flee. The monk tells Sadet to take refuse at Thayaki's sword school. Sadet fights with some ruffians in a restaurant. Those are part of Thayaki's sword school. Sadet has chance to meet Thayaki, his son and his daughter Katima (Metta Roongrat), who likes Sadet a lot. Sadet has opportunity to defeat Khairoo, who was treacherous with him in Hongsawadee. In 1531, Mangtra becomes new king of Taungoo and is now called King Tabinshwehti (พระเจ้าตะเบ็งชะเวตี้). As an acquinted childhood friend to the new king, Sadet gains the royal trust and is made the royal brother-in-law. Sadet then goes to Phrae and meets princess Kusuma (กุสุมา)(Pissamai Wilaisak), whom he tries to seduce also. The movie is divided into three parts. ผู้ชนะสิบทิศ ตอน ยอดขุนพล is part 1. It is based on Thai novel "ผู้ชนะสิบทิศ" or "The Conqueror of Ten Directions" from writer Chote Phraepan (pen name "Yacob" - ยาขอบ). There are ten directions as it includes eight compass directions and it also counts heaven and hell. The Thai novel was adapted to a TV serie, a movie serie and a musical comedy. The song of the same name from the movie series, performed by Charintra Nanthanakorn (ชรินทร์ นันทนาคร) remains one of the most recognizable and popular songs in Thailand. This 1960 old movie has still colorful and clean image that allows enjoying the nice costumes. It lasts 2h30. Old Thai and royal language (ราชาศัพท์) is used during the long dialogues. Movie Operation Bangkok / เพชรตัดเพชร was released in year 1966 and lasts 1h50mn. It is a HK Thai co production managed by three film directors including Wichit Khunawut. Mitr Chaibancha meets Yot (Luechai Natnat). An exchange of suitcases happens over a bridge. Adinan Singhiran is Yot’s acolyte. Yot betrays Mitr and tries to keep the two suitcases. Shooting happens and Yot flees. Choomporn Theppitak is part of a gang led by Kecha Plianvithee. Yot belongs to the same gang also. Luechai arrives in Hong Kong. He meets Adul Dulyarat on a boat to exchange drugs against money. The drug is fake and he steals the money by punching Adul. He flees to Bangkok and escapes to Choomporn, who tries to shoot him with a long range rifle. Yot has betrayed (ทรยศ) Kecha. Yot meets singer Pai Lu (Hong Kong actress Regina Pai Ping) in the plane and sympathizes. Mitr disguises himself as Chat, a tough ruffian, to infiltrate Kecha’s gang. Chadaporn Wachirapranee is Chat’s old wife so he punches Sompol Kongsuwan to show he is back. Chao Klaewklong introduces Chat to Kecha. Mitr helps Pai Lu chased by two ruffians including Choomporn. Chat brings Pai Lu himself to Kecha. Yot falls in a trap prepared by Adul to steal the diamond but it fails and Adul dies. Yot wishes to make peace with Kecha. Kecha wants only one right-arm man so both Chat and Yot have to fight against each other. Pai Lu and Petchara ask them to stop fighting. They are all captured by Kecha. Part of the movie is then lost here. Wilaiwan shots Ratsamee. Hopefully Pai Lu shots Wilaiwan and can help Ratsamee on time. Thai police attack the ruffians. All are killed or captured but Kecha succeeds to flee. Kecha refuses to surrender to the Thai police and prefers to explode his boat. The movie ends up on a sad note as Pai Lu has to leave Chat to go back back to Hong Kong, Ratsamee is separated from Yot as he has to go to jail. This movie is still available in Hong Kong under title 諜海蛟龍 and was shown on cable TV. The famous song of this movie is ดวงใจ by singer สวลี ผกาพันธุ์. This movie is one of the best confrontations between Thai superstars Mitr Chaibancha and Luechai Natnat. As it is a HK Thai co production, it is interesting to find that the Chinese version poster features Chinese actress Regina Pai Ping’s head in big size. Mitr Chaibancha and Petchara Chaowarat are displayed in small size. But the Thai poster displays more prominently Mitr Chaibancha and Petchara Chaowarat. In the Chinese synopsis, Mitr Chaibancha is written as mi-tsai- wan-chai (Thai detective No 78) and called as Ah Tsai in the movie. Regina Pai Ping (Hong Kong agent No 113) is called as Pai Lu in the movie. Petchara Chaowarat is written as Pi-chai-la and called as Sha Mei in the movie. The movie was so famous that it was released once in year 1966 and then reshown again in year 1975. The original version lasts 2h20mn but the 1975 version was reduced to less than 2 hours as both movies เพชรตัดเพชร and คนเหนือคน were shown together. The DVD released by company Pantamit is based on the 1975 version. It took five years for company Pantamit to convince the film owner to lend it in order to make a digital copy. Another film copy remains in the Thai Film archives.

Thai movie ฆ่ายัดกล่อง is based on a case, which is a real story and occurred in year 1965. Regarding the assassin, it was จรินทร์ สิทธิธรรม ฉายา “กระทิงแดง ศิษย์พระกาฬ”. The victim is teen กิมบั๊ก แซ่อึ้ง being 15 years old. He killed this teen and put the body in a box (ส่งศพมาทางรถไฟ) and throws it in a train going to Chiang Mai. As he was cooperative during investigation, he didn't get death sentence but life imprisonment. Movie director is อัจฉราพันธ์. Actors also include เมืองเริง ปัทมินทร์ and กิติกร สุนทรปักษิ. The movie lasts 1h46mn and is a 16mm film in mute format. The 16mm film has still a colorful image but it was never released commercially in Thailand so it is still in mute mode as 16mm films require live dubbing. The movie is probably incomplete as 1960s movies were often more than two hours long. The movie seems to diverge compared to the real police case. Two schoolmates including Kitikorn (กิติกร สุนทรปักษิ) are fighting together because of a female student. Sarinthip Siriwan is Kitikorn’s mother. The husband is a drunkard. The son Kitikorn protects his mother. The mother and stepfather finally stab each other. Kitikorn goes to Bangkok. He meets a man and his daughter (Prim Praphaporn) as soup sellers. Prim appreciates Kitikorn. Kitikorn takes refuge in an uncle's home in Bangkok. Sukon Koewliam plays a policeman role. The two youngsters, Prim and Kitikorn, leave to stay together. Kaenjai Meenakanit meets Kitikorn and convinces him to go to hotel room. It is a trick as in the hotel room, a photographer takes a picture of them. He gets threatened by Krai Kanchit. Prim goes to Krai's house and gets some money. The young man is threatened again and understands he has been fooled by Kaenchai. A movie reel must be missing as Kitikorn is then seen at hospital with Prim, going to give birth. His child unfortunately dies. Kitikorn goes to see Kaenchai again and blames her. As she wants to get rid of him by giving him money, he hits her. He needs to buy medicine for Prim but he has no money. Kitikorn steals some goods at the pharmacy but a man is killed during the fighting. Police is involved. The police leader enquiries over Krai. Police visits Prim's home but Kitikorn flees before. Police chases him in the countryside. He hides in a Buddha cave. A monk finds him. Police asks him to surrender. Prim and his uncle ask him also. The monk convinces him to surrender.

สันดานดิบ is a Thai western movie released in year 1965. It features three famous awarded Thai actors, i.e. Pawana Chanajit, Chana Sriubon and Chaiya Suriyun. Two groups of ruffians shoot each other for the possession of a mysterious box probably containing drugs. Even Kaenjai is shot. The movie ends up with a ruffian kidnapping Pawana but Chaiya rescues her on time following final shootings. Many gun duels happen in this movie as it was an era where westerns movies were very popular.

Thai movie เพชรน้ำผึ้ง was released in year 1965 and lasts 1h06mn only. It was released by Thai company Lepso under VCD format. Half of the movie is certainly lost. The end of the movie seems accelerated as probably half of the 24 frames per second in the 16mm film were damaged so Lepso removed them. It still features a colorful image. Cheut (Surasit Sattayawong) has a 500 000 THB debt. As he cannot pay back the debt, his son Chen (Sombat Methanee) accepts to work for Nai Dusit (สิงห์ มิลินทราศัย) for 20 years to pay the debt. Lampa (จุฑารัตน์ จินรัตน์), married to Surasit, had a child with Nai Dusit. ลูก Jun (Petchera Chaowarat) surnamed as Nam Pheung is missing her mum as she went to study overseas. Nai Dusit lies to her saying she is dead already. Ah has a mistress played by Kaenjai Meenakanit. เจ้าของไร่ meets Cheun but she dislikes him. Jun plays tricks to Chen to show her displeasure but she is the one being tricked. A friendship finally starts. Dusit wishes to get rid of Lampa, Jun's mother. Lampa is invited by Nai Dusit to see her daughter but it is a trick as Jun is replaced by Kaenjai Meenakanit. Kaenjai claims she dislikes her mother as she has a new husband. Shocked, the mother wanders nowhere and is almost crushed by a train. She is saved by Chen and Jun. Jun asks help from Chen as she wishes to meet her mother. Kaenjai and Ah have a plan against Jun and Chen. Kaenjai kisses Chen to have Jun upset and Ah promises to bring Jun to see her mother. It is a trick to rape Jun. Hopefully a man called Nam Ta Dao is here to help her. Dusit forbids Jun to leave her room (พ่อใจร้าย). Ah is shot as he misbehaved with Jun. Kaenjai holds Jun responsible of Ah's death so she tries to poison her. It fails as Chen comes to help her to escape. She warns Khun Dusit to prevent an escape. Chen is outnumbered and knocked out. Seeing his wife close to death, Cheut decides it is time to rebel against Nai Dusit and his men. Other villagers agree and join him. Fighting and shooting occur. A ruffian releases Chen and Sukon as he disagrees about Nai Dusit preventing a daughter to see her mother. Kaenjai tries to kill Jun but Nam Ta Dao, an undercover policeman, prevents her. Nai Dusit is captured by Chen and Cheut. Police arrests all the ruffians. The mother Lampa recovers. Chen and Jun declare their love to each other.
