All Boonchu and Mo's friends are now parents also so their kids support Boonchoke. Boonchoke is chasing a young lady who stole his wallet. Same as his father he failed the first year exams as he helps this young lady chased by a gang. This opus 9 plays with nostalgia with participation of all former actors that played in Boonchu serie twenty years ago. It is adapted to modern movie style but still maintaining the atmosphere of earlier episodes with similar jokes from Boon Chu and his son, good-hearted country bumpkins. Boonchu 9 cleared 15 million baht over the first four-day period. This remake couldn't be the same without Jintara Sookkapat and Santisuk Promsiri as Boonchu.

One hundred years ago two robbers (a young lady and a comic character), a false doctor and a former monk flee the police. A foreigner (ฝรั่ง) in collusion with a corrupted village head takes away the farmers' children to use them as slaves. To get back their children they need to pay a big amount of money. Farmers have heard of a local Robin Hood called Seua (เสือ). They try to contact him but meet the above quatuor but not the real Seua. They go after the kidnapers. They finally meet the real Seua. The Magnificent Five are united. They go together to search for the children but spend more time to argue on the reward sharing. The group reaches their ruffians' camp. They use Trojan horse tactic but it fails and the young lady (Paula Taylor) escapes nearly to serious problems with the camp leader. They need to reach the sea before a boat takes away the children. A fight happens. The foreigner and his ruffians are deafeated so need to flee and sail away. The young lady then decide also to neutralize the camp leader to avoid anymore kidnapping to happen. Charoenporn Awnlamai plays the comic expert in explosives. In many modern Thai movies, foreigners are often the bad guys. In old movies, the bad guys were the Burmese or the communist threat. This movie is a blending of action and comedy. Could this movie be seen as as a criticism of the foreigners stealing the Thai youth?

After each annual Royal Ploughing Brahminic ceremony, farmers are rushing to get grains of rice paddy (ข้าวนายหลวง) as they believe they are sacred. Saokam, a farmer from Northern Thailand, has been to Bangkok to Sanam Luang (สนามหลวง) and brings back gifts and royal rice seeds for family and relatives. Saokam takes some seeds to grow in his field. He gives some to friends and neighbours including lady Buarian, the local shopkeeper and usurer, who keeps one seed for worship. Saokam has three children including one daughter called Kaew. Saokam's house is destroyed by a storm. Saokam has only one week to pay back debts. One son, Ang, wants to sell the rice fields and go to city. The debt cycle with the usurer has no end. Saokam has to sell his buffalo but it only pays the debt interests. This year following a drought there is no rain and no more water. Only the usurer has a well. There is fight over water with villagers as Buarian refuses to sell water until villagers pay back debts. Ang, fed up by this life, goes out of home and gets refuge in hill tribes (ผู้ดอย). They trade opium between Burma and Thailand. Fortunately, Saokam's second son is working with the King's project to produce artificial rain (ฝนหลวง). Big dark clouds are created and bountiful rain happens. Everybody rejoices except lady Buarian selling water. She has no mercy (เมตตา). Some farmers have to mortgage their own fields to pay debts and Buarian takes advantage of her neighbor's poverty by increasing rate. She fires some farmers from their house as they cannot pay back debts. She doesn't want to give a delay for them to plant rice as water has been plentiful. Their son, Neung, is soldier but his salary is not enough to pay debts. Villagers help each other and Saokam accommodates them in his home. Kaew is the girlfriend of the son of the usurer but he claims he cannot help as it is his mother's decision. Ang is back but his family refuses the money got from opium trade (เงินบาป). He leaves again to see his girlfriend Nacha at the Burmese border. The rice grows well. Neung is now a soldier as Burmese-Thai border. The father has to sell at low cost his rice to pay back the debt and even has to give the small amount they keep for their own consumption. The rice trader has an arrangement with the usurer. Kaew breaks up with the usurer's son. Family members help each other. In addition, Saokam's son also persuades other farmers to join the Royal Agricultural Projects and build a cooperative. The new worry is to grab Ang from the opium traders before a clash happens with army. Neung promises Kaew that he will help. During a clash with army and opium traders, Neung protects Ang but gets hurt and is responsible of one soldier's injuries also. He is fired from Army. Ang apologises for his wrongdoings. The movie ends up on a positive way. Farmers are out of debt cycle by following Royal Agricultural project, rice is abundant, Neung receives Army's appreciation by helping to catch the opium trader ring leader. Usurer gets bankrupted having no more customers and needs to leave. This movie was made to celebrate of His Majesty's 5th Cycle Birthday. "Good" films are sometimes rejected by the audience. Nat (Suriwan Suriyong) is the local school teacher. Nat is separated for two years ago with student Chanuan (Bin Banleurit). Chanuan wishes to resume relationship with Nat but she refuses as she doesn't want to suffer again. Her decision to go in this poor remote village is linked to Chanuan's previous bad behavior. Some villagers such as Wan (Pumi Patanayut) don't welcome students (อาศัยพัฒนาหมู่บ้าน). Local influential man Boonsong is working with Wan to replace Meui. Boonsong gives free wood to build the school. Boonsong forbids anybody to go in some parts of the forest. They cut illegally trees in the forest per student Waen's discovery (ทำร้ายป่า). Arguments occur between students as they don't agree on the way to manage this. The majority decides not to be involved as it is outside their mandate. Wan of course protects Boonsong as he is supporting the villagers to keep them quiet. Meui wishes that Chanuan quits the village as arguments occur with Nat as she doesn't want to forgive him. Waen complains Thailand will become a desert (ทะเลทราย) with all those trees cut illegally. Waen wishes Chanuan to bring some pictures to newspapers. Waen and Chanuan see men led by Chat Mongkolchai and Ong Nai (Suchao Pongwilai) cutting trees. Waen dies shot by ruffians led by Boonsong (คนที่มีอิทธิพล). Mon people are working for Boonsong and get paid in medicine and weapons to be able to fight against Burmese military government (การฆ่าและการต่อสู้ไม่เหมือนกัน). Ong Nai understands Chanuan as he is also a former student, but he cannot help. During the weapons trading, Boonsong's ruffians shoot the Mon people. Only Ong Nai escapes. Ruffians storm the student's place and burn the school as they believe one of them hides the camera. As they threaten Nat, Uan interposes and gets killed. Chanuan has not enough proofs to accuse Boonsong and Wan. To avoid more deaths, students must leave by train. Chanuan decides to go back to rebuild a school as a memorial to Waen and Uan. Students follow him. School has been burnt. Nat and Chanuan resume friendship. Ong Nai has a debt towards Boonsong. He gives Waen's camera back to Chanuan and promises to manage Boonsong per the forest laws... Meanwhile Nat and the children have been kidnapped by the Boonsong's ruffians. They succeed to escape but are chased by ruffians. Meanwhile Thai army, Chanuan and Meui face the ruffians. Shootings happens and Meui is killed. Ruffians send big logs on the Thai army and children but luckily nobody is injured. Chanuan and Lak chase ruffians. Lak loses his life while protecting Chanuan. About to escape, Boonsong is shot by Wan. Wan gets the credit to have stopped Boonsong despite Chanuan claiming he was right hand of Boonsong. Thai army leader mentions to Chanuan that it is time for students to go back to Bangkok. Nothing they can do against what is good or bad here. Wan is nominated as new village leader. Nat refuses to go back to Bangkok as she needs to take care of the kids. Despite adversity, she has to stay and not flee. The only solution for Chanuan to protect Nat and the Baan Dan villagers is to shoot Wan... After shooting Wan, Chanuan is arrested but remains คนดีที่บ้านด่าน in the villagers’ hearts.
