Those movies are about a masked vigilante crimefighter, who was played by Mitr Chaibancha. The character was created by writer Sek Dusit. Insee Daeng is a serial novel consisting of six volumes. The films are "The Gangster" - จ้าวนักเลง (1959), “Thap Saming Khla” - ทับสมิงคลา (1962) , “Awasan Insee Dang” – อวสานอินทรีแดง (1963), “Pisat Dam” - ปีศาจดำ (1966), "The Eagle" – จ้าวอินทรีย์ (1968) and "The Golden Eagle" - อินทรีทอง (1970). Insee Daeng is the famous vigilant hero that appears during decade 1960s in Thailand. When Rom wears a red mask, he becomes Insee Daeng. One night, Rom simulates being drunk in a nightclub but Wassana, his girlfriend, is taking care of him. Nobody never thought that Rom, often seen drunk, can be Insee Daeng. They meet influent wealthy man (พ่อเลี้ยง) called Sombun. Following an altercation between Rom and some ruffians, Sombun is found stabbed with a knife featuring a skull pommel. A mysterious organisation signs its crimes with this specific knife. Police inspector Montree and his subordinate Chat are investigating. They are looking for the ruffians and try to catch Saeng, their supposed leader, but he succeeds to flee. At nighttime the mysterious organization also tries to stab the police inspector (สารวัตร) Montree. Chat doesn’t like Insee Daeng but the police inspector Montree admits he is useful for the society (ผิดแต่มีประโยชน์สำหรับสังคม) but his duty is still to catch him. Insee Daeng finds one of the ruffian and follows him to a big house. A mysterious woman is found stabbed there. Chat has a fight there with Insee Daeng but is defeated. Chat believes the murderer is Insee Daeng but mysteriously the body has disappeared. The house is owned by a wealthy man called Thiem. Rom disguises himself as a ruffian named Sing in order to infiltrate the organisation. He found that Thiem is one of the head (นาย) of the ruffians. Sing claims he is coming from the South of Thailand and that he is fleeing the police. Sing accepts to work for Thiem (คนของฉัน). Sing speaks a lot and is not appreciated by other ruffians. A social party is organized. Rom, Wassana and the policemen meet Chamanchai Suk, a powerful businessman. Another businessman is killed during the party. Montree and Chat are captured while trying to catch the killers. Hopefully a mysterious masked heroine frees them on time and gives them the address of a storage place containing heroine. Thiem asks Sing to get back an important letter. He goes there as Insee Daeng and succeeds thanks again to the help of the mysterious masked heroine. Thiem is pleased with Sing and would like him to join (สมาชิก) the mysterious organisation (ชาติชั่ว) called “Dead demon” (ภูตมรณะ). Sing meets Kanda (Preeya Roongrueng), a dangerous beautiful sexy lady working for Thiem. Oh Oh is the big boss but nobody ever saw his face. While visiting ‘Blue Birds’ bar, the two policemen are captured again. Chat shall be drown slowly and Montree’s death shall be disguised as an accidental fall from a building. Hopefully Insee Daeng can help them on time as Sing is now member of the organisation. Finally internal conflicts cause the failure of the organisation. Kanda surrenders to the Police and gives them the address of the hidden lair. The movie ends with various gun fights involving Montree, Chat, Insee Daeng and the ruffians. Oh Oh, who is in fact Chamanchai Suk, is also shot. The mysterious masked heroine is Wassana. The police failed once again to catch Insee Daeng. The movie (Lepso Studio VCD version) has a damaged picture with lack of colors but the Phanmitr DVD version has been remastered so offering a very good quality. It reminds of 1960s decade movies involving mysterious organizations such as James Bond movies with Sean Connery or Fantômas with Jean Marais. There is a very good performance from Mitr Chaibancha as he is playing three roles (Rom, Insee Daeng and Sing). It is a long movie, i.e. around 2h20.

Witaya (Sorapong Chatree) is responsible of the security inside Pa's company. Pa has two daughters, Plaew and Fai. They rob their father's money from a safe and donate (บริจาค) 500 000 baht to a blind pupil school. The two sisters give the money under the father's name (กุศล)! While robbing money, they do wear mask with red cheeks (แก้มแดง). They sign their crime with a name card displaying a lioness logo (นางสิงห์). The father is rich and selfish. He never gives any money to charitable organizations but is very generous with his minor wife (เมียน้อย), Toi. Thep, Toi's brother, is part of the company administration council. Plae is also accepted in the company council. The two sisters steal clothes and personal effects from Vitaya to offer them to a poor school (คนยากคนจร). Another time they steal his BMW car. The two sisters continue to harass him but understand that he is a good man. Meanwhile Thep needs more money as he is gambling a lot. Toi has another boyfriend. As Toi cannot always ask money to Pa, Thep decides to steal money from the company safe and uses the lioness logo to accuse them. As the money is not given to a charitable organization, police and Witaya are puzzled regarding the robbers. The two sisters, as the mysterious lionesses, also make a statement about their innocence. A new exhibition showing old artifacts is organized. Thep and Witaya are responsible of the security. Honor of the company (เสียชื่อ) is engaged so a new robbery cannot happen. Thanks to video surveillance, Thep knows who is hiding behind the lionesses' masks and plans to accuse them about the old artifacts successful robbery. Plaew and her sister are aware of the plan thanks to a hidden microphone. They succeed to get back the artifacts but Thep knows and threatens to announce their real identity to the press. He asks for salacious favor to Plaew, who calls his wife Wilai to join them in order to be safe. Thep wants to marry Plaew and becomes the son-in-law (ลูกเขย). Wilai heards his plans and shares the information with Plaew. Thep is finally caught by the police while trying to rob things (ปล้นสินค้า). Hopefully the video tape has been replaced by Wilai (ทำดีได้ดีทำชั่วได้ชั่ว) so Thep cannot prove his accusations over Plaew and his sister. Pa dumps his minor wife. Witaya knows the lionesses' real identity but keeps the secret as love emerges with Plaew.

In 2013 a nuclear plant construction is ongoing in Chumphon. Elections will happen soon. The candidate to be prime minister promises to stop the plant. The Thai society is getting worst and worst with many aggression and drug trafficking. As government cannot stop this, it is time for citizen to handle by themselves. Three years have passed. The nuclear plant construction is almost finished and nuclear opponents have been chased away. Young lady Wassana tries to convince her former boyfriend, now prime minister, to do something but he refuses. He argues that destruction of country side (เสียสละ) is needed for the welfare of the whole country (ประโยชน์ชาติ). He also acknowledges that he lied to be elected. Meanwhile police is investigating on a mysterious man called "Insee Daeng" as a group of drug dealers have been found violently butchered. Insee Daeng also enters in a senator house and kills him violently. The senator was always bringing underage girls to his home. If the Thai police and the law cannot perform properly their duty, then Insee Daeng will have to intervene. Insee Daeng is a modern justiciary hero fighting against corrupted men. A policeman called Chat wishes to catch him. Rom, young man, is “Insee Daeng”. He got a bullet in the brain and needs to take morphine often to ease the pain. Wassana knows him as she helped him to escape before. A mysterious organisation, a group of masked men (การเมืองเลว), want to get rid of Insee Daeng and recruits a dangerous assassin to kill him. Chat, the policeman, is assigned to protect a corrupted businessman. It turns bad in a nightclub. There is impressive shooting in Bangkok, dark and modern city and an epic fight with the assassin on a billboard and inside a department store. On top of this Chat and SAWT forces are chasing him. The corrupted prime minister, who got his campaign paid by the nuclear plant company, needs to prevent any stop of the construction by getting rid of the opponents to the project including his former girlfriend Wassana. Rom and Chat know each other as Rom was previously a policeman but Chat is unaware that Rom and Insee Daeng are the same man. A team of bikers try to kill Wassana but Insee Daeng helps her on time. The prime minister is the head of the cabal. Despite being a violent gory bloody and modern movie, there are still funny moments such as the car chases between a taxi and ice cream motorbike. He needs to finish the job against the Prime Minister and get rid of the punisher (ปีศาจดำ). Through an epic final the punisher is defeated. In Chumphon, the peaceful demonstration is crushed by the police. Wassana is in danger. Can Insee Daeng help her on time? This movie got disillusions at box office with only 13M baht. It was released on October 07 2010, one day before the 40th anniversary of the death of Mitr Chaibancha following the tragic deadly accident in Golden Eagle (อินทรีทอง) movie. It is still unlikely if the second part of the movie will be produced. Wisit Sasanatieng had issues when directing the film as he had to juggle between his artistic wishes and the commercial producer wishes. Some contemporary political elements could easily be interpreted as the movie casts politicians as the villains.

Two young guys are dealing with heroin. The police failed to catch them. The two guys take refuge in a young lady's home, who is the girlfriend of one of them. They are modern Thai hooligans. Sorapong Chatree plays a hooligan in bell-bottom jeans in a film that mirrors the youthful chaos of the year 1976. The movie was shot in 1976 at the time of the violent crackdown on leftist students and protestors that occurred in the grounds of Thammasat university. The three young hooligans are living thanks to small thefs (stealing goods, wallets...). They are in rebellion with the society, i.e. they like damaging public installation, breaking windows, frightening middle class people, eating in restaurant without paying. One of them is keen on drugs also. One of the hooligan is rebelling again the system as when he was soldier, he was told to kill communist villagers but those people were good people worshipping the King of Thailand so he lost faith in Thai official institutions. The Chief of police looking for them was his former military superior. When robbing a house and neutralizing the occupants, they get a gun. While stealing a car, they face a strong owner who fights them. He is shot dead. They become more and more violent. They are caught in a whirlpool. They rob banks and shot policemen. Followed by police, they finally find refuge in the South of Thailand around Yala where they continue their bank robbing. They get too much media coverage. Journalists called them Grounded gods as they can do whatever they want, they always escape and nobody can catch them. They have nothing to loose and know they will die sooner or later. Surrounded by the Police, they hide in the jungle and are captured by a muslim community. The community is fighting against Thai institutions also but have real motives. It is precursory regarding current violent events happening in South of Thailand. The three hooligans finally died under Police bullets. It reminds of Stanley Kubrik's ultra violent "Clockwork Orange" movie and Bonny and Clide story. It is unofficially claimed that Oliver Stone was inspired from "Grounded God" for his controversial "Natural Born Killers" as many parallels are visible.

Ithipon (Sorapong Chatree) is a police inspector (สารวัตร). He doesn't have a car (รถแข่ง) as he refuses any corrupting money from the mafia. Yot (Krung Srivilai) is another policeman, who has a hot temper (รุนแรง) and uses easily guns to stop robbers (ผู้ร้าย). In a single day, he shot four robbers. It makes big headlines in newspapers. Ithipon always follows the law (ความยุติธรรม) and wants to give a good image of the police to Thai citizens. His family is poor. It includes his sister, Am, and his mother. Am is still a student and is addicted (ติต) to marijuana (กัญชา). Ithipon needs to solve many issues linked to the facts that policemen do not always behave well in private life also (club singer pregnant and dropped...). Ithipon sometimes acts like a social assistant. Ithipon’s team deals with heroin dealing case, prostitution cases, rape case, police corruption but also everyday ordinary cases. This movie shows the kind of crimes faced by Thai society in 1970s. Yot, by killing some drug dealers, puts the mess again (มือปราบจับตาย) as no proofs and information can be got from dead bodies. Yot’s behavior is linked to his past when he was ten years old. His mother was murdered by a carpenter who was acquitted due to lack of proofs despite he saw him with his own eyes! So nowadays he has become a harsh policeman. Yot has been suspended (ถูกราชการ) following the drug failure case. Rich people use their power to influence police. A businesswoman wishes to have her son released! Ithipon needs to arrest his own sister Am as she was caught smoking opium (ติตยา) in an illegal den. Ithipon remains inflexible. The law is same for all so he refuses to help his sister and has to perform his duty (นาที). Yot continues to shoot illegally some bad people and wish to clean the Thai society. Ithipon meets Eewa, his former girlfriend. Ithipon is poor so he couldn't marry with Eewa. As Eewa's parents were sick, Eewa had no choice than becoming the mafia leader Kongwan’s mistress. As her parents are both dead, Ithipon proposes to take care of Eewa and hides her. Kongwan's ruffians are looking for Eewa. They storm Ithipon's home, hurt the mother and kidnap him. As Ithipon refuses to speak and to accept dirty money every month, Kongwan drugs him with heroin to make him dependent and to know where is Eewa. Finally Ithipon breaks down and tells them where Eewa is. Being inflexible with law, what did Ithipon gain? His mother is injured, his sister is in hospital and he is also addicted now (ตรงกับกฎหมายไม่ได้อะไร). His family is wrecked and his sister despises him. Eewa is kidnapped by Kongwan again. While being under treatment Ithipon flees from hospital. Being beaten by drug sellers, he is rescued by Pen. She was a prostitute Ithipon helped before to leave this profession. As a way to thank him she takes care about him until he can recover. Redemption is always possible (ยังมีทางแก้). Both his sister and mother have died. Yot continues to do his own justice by cleaning Bangkok from bad guys. Ithipon starts his own revenge by storming and burning Kongwan's heroin warehouse and by shooting ruffians. Kongwan orders to kill Ithipon. He shoots Eewa as she was going to warn Ithipon. Ithipon is injured again. The violence cycle has no end. There is a dirty policeman inside the police station, who always informs Kongwan. Kongwan does the cleaning of informants as a trial against him is ongoing. Yot won't let him go away. While leaving the hospital and going back to his slum house, Ithipon is shot by Kongwan. But this time Kongwan cannot escape his responsibilities and is caught by the police. Ithipon finally wins by following the law (ชนะตามกฎหมาย). This movie includes the 1970s top actors and features a funky "Shaft" 1970s soundtrack. This interesting movie deals about Thai police hardship and difficulty to have a clean police due to low monthly salary and extra judicial killings. It is still an issue nowadays. In 2011 senior police officers own a big illegal casino in the heart of Bangkok. It was was overseen by local police and allowed in only high-stakes gamblers.

The bar manager is shot also. Seua is seriously beaten at the head as he refuses to stop investigating. While driving, Sinkon is also shot by the hitman. A former policeman, Natheum, passing by, sees the hitman’s face. All witnesses are killed one by one. Illegal forest concessions (ตัดไม้เถื่อน) business is suspected. Threatening letters are now received by Seua. A plan is prepared with the police inspector. They break over the ruffians directly inside the forest. Shootings happen between police and the ruffians. They release Kamsaen and his daughter held prisoners inside a hut. The ruffian leader succeeds to escape and is still unknown. Natheum is Seua's old friend. While having a drink in the bar, he recognizes Aree as the hitman. Kamsaen has been simulating his capture and is in fact the real headmaster. Toi is his mistress. Kamsaen is killed while trying to resist to the police. Seua, carrying a Magnum 357 gun, revenges his friend Pop by shooting Aree. The magnum 357 is certainly influenced by inspector Harry movies with Clint Eastwood. This movie is a typical action movie from decades 1970s-1980s and features the finest Thai actors and actresses.

The Vainquisher is similar to a B grade movie. Lady Genja is expert in martial skills. She is working in Thai special forces as secret agent. During a mission in South Thailand, Genja is betrayed by her own organization but survives. Claire, her boss, is a treacherous lady. Two years later Genja is involved in an international terrorism threat involving CIA, Thai special forces, South Thailand islamic insurgents and Japanese Ninjas. Wajip, head of terrorists, is hidding in Bangkok. Genja has to face Claire again. English language is used in the main part of the movie as multinational teams are involved to catch Wajip. Sexy women and samourai fights cannot compensate the weak scenario and montage sequences. The owner of Sahamongkol Film International ordered all footage of Chotiros Suriyawong to be deleted from the movie "The Vanquisher" as she was rebuked for wearing a revealing outfit to the Subhanahongsa Awards. Following Tak Bai incident in South of Thailand, this action film was ordered to cut a scene showing gunmen opening fire into a mosque, or facing a ban.
