2. Sor Asanajinda (1921-1993) - ส.อาสนจินดา

   Sor Asanajinda is a famous Thai film director (he has directed more than 70 movies!) and also a famous Thai actor (he has played in more than 80 movies!). He was also a writer and journalist.    During Thai cinema golden years, Sombat Methanee, the standard for Thai action heroes, appeared in 12 or 13 films released each year. Sombat Methanee and Aranya Namwong have moved in to acquire the position of screen deities. His very first action film was released in Thai theatres in 1963. Mr. Metanee is famous with his action sequences and has starred roles in over six hundred movies. He also tried his luck in singing.    When Mitr Chaibancha died in 1970, Thai producers were looking for new stars to replace him. Phairoj Jaising was one of them but also Nard Poowanai, Yodchai Meksuwan, Krung Srivilai.     MC Chatrichalerm Yukol launched the career of Thailand's leading actor Sorapong Chatri. Sorapong came from a working-class background. He played roles of struggling poor people or country migrants lucking it out in Bangkok. His characters were not idealised human beings. He won praise due to his powerhouse performances in the 1970s and 1980s, especially in the films by MC Chatrichalerm Yukol.
