Choomporn learning this gives a lesson to Malalin. Her mother being sick, Petchara and Choomporn have to go back to their home town. Main actress: Pawana Chanajit,Khomapat Attaya

Following huge success of movie “Mon Rak Luk Tung” (มนต์รักลูกทุ่ง) in 1970, many song movies were released to catch up with this trend. Such movies include songs, a bit of action, romance and humor. Thai movie เพลงสวรรค์นางไพร is one of them and was released in year 1971. It features nine songs. Director is พิชิต มีชัย. This movie was a lost movie in Thailand. In year 2013, a last copy was found in a Thai temple in the North of Thailand. Only three reels of the movie are left, so around 1h30mn. Unfortunately the film reels were in bad condition due to water soaking, so only 18mn are only usable. This remaining extract is available online. It is in 16mm format so there is no sound as such format requires dubbing. No songs are left. No movie poster is left. A movie partial summary is still available. Thai movie แก้วขนเหล็ก with Kanchit Kwanpracha and Petchara Chaowarat released in year 1971 was very popular and even earns more money than other 35mm movies. Anyway in 1972 most theaters in Bangkok shift to 35mm projectors. Due to provincial theaters (โรงหนังต่างจังหวัด), outdoor theaters (หนังเร่), "movies to sell drugs" (หนังขายยา) not using 35mm projectors as they were still expensive, 16mm copies have to be given to them. Sombat Methanee is Waiwai, working as forest guard. Pawana Chanajit is SaenGneun. Others actors include Sawin Sawangrat, Choomporn Theppitak, Anucha Ratanaman, Krai Kanchit, Khomapat Attaya, countryside folk singers (นักร้องลูกทุ่ง) such as Noppadol Duangporn. Action takes place in a village. Ruffians are terrorizing and aggressing local ladies. A spirits doctor is coming to the village. A ghost appears to the villagers during an assembly. Romance is happening between Waiwai and SaenGneun. A small sequence shows Sombat Methanee punching ruffians. The remaining sequences are not enough to understand the movie.

Without a summary and the movie being in mute state as it is in 16mm format, the story is difficult to understand. Aranya Namwong receives a letter from her fiance studying at university. Wassana Chalakorn is jealous and steals the photograph. Op Boonthit and his daughter Chosri Misommon are bar owners. Sompong is their regular customer. Choomporn Theppitak is agressed by a ruffian, who is finally an old friend. Sawin Sawangrat and Rujira (ม.ล. รุจิรา) seem to have bad plans but are spied by Choomporn and Anucha. Chaiya is back from his studies. Chaiya and Wassana Chalakorn are in a rice field having romantic talk. Khomapat Attaya is with them. Wassana Chalakorn tries to prevent Chaiya to meet Aranya. Anucha is trying to abuse Wassana Chalakorn. Heated arguments happen during a wedding colorful procession. This movie reminds of famous movie “Mon Rak Luk Thung” (มนต์รักลูกทุ่ง - 1970) as it features many songs and various couples involving romance and jealousy. Following movie “Mon Rak Luk Thung” success, many romantic song movies (หนังเพลง) were released in the following months and years trying to surf on a similar popular wave.

This event leads the whole Burmese army to Bang Rajan. Tap, after taking care of the villagers, goes to rescue his sister and fiancee. His fiancee is soiled (ตัวเสีย) so they cannot come back together. Tap forgives to the Siamese men as they promise to take care of the young ladies so they join his group in Bang Rajan. Burmese army starts to assault Bang Rajan. Burmese has guns but Siamese people have only swords. Women are fighting also. It is the duty for men to become soldier and protect the nation. Burmese come with elephants and big guns. Siamese people needs a big gun to fight back Burmese army. Ayutthaya king refuses to give them a big gun as Bang Rajan is a small village only. Ayutthaya people donate utensils for Bang Rajan to mold a big gun but it is fissured during moulding. Siamese are disadvantaged by their lack of firearms. As Burmese do not succeed to enter inside Bang Rajan with their infantry, they build forts surrounding the village. Siamese soldiers cannot destroy the forts built by the Burmese and suffered casualties from infantry assaults upon those forts. One of the Siamese leaders becomes drunk and furious. Upon a water buffalo, he takes a few men and attacked the Burmese. This event remains a forever legend and has been reused on poster of the 2000s Bang Rajan movie. He was killed and his men routed. Tap and his men succeed to neutralize the big gun before it destroys Bang Rajan walls. But they fail when Burmese use weapons similar to Katyusha multiple rocket launchers. Villagers are outnumbered and killed. Bang Rajan villagers and soldiers sacrifice their life for the nation. Tap and his new girlfriend are the only one to survive. They are rescued by future King Taksin, who liberated Siam from Burmese occupation after Ayutthaya fall in 1767. Such movies were very popular during nationalist era of Thailand, i.e. 1960s with communist threat risk and the 2000s folliwing the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. This movie highlights the sacrifice of villagers not supported by the official administrators. Sombat Methanee got a gold statuette award (รางวัลตุ๊กตาทอง) received from HM the King for his best actor work. In 1966 the government renovated Bang Rachan camp (ค่ายบางระจัน).
