There are many different houses ("BAAN" - บ้าน) style in Thailand depending on the area. Thailand is divided into four main area : North, Northeast, Central, South. Each area has its own architectural aspects.

	In Bangkok there are large "CONDOMINIUMS", i.e. buildings with many flats. Those building often include guardians, swimming pool and small shops such as laundry, restaurant, barber and so on...

In june 1999, developers starved for both cash and credit have abandoned 364 unfinished buildings in Bangkok. Some have become magnets for crime, and all are deteriorating to the point they will need major renovations simply to complete them. The skeletons of dead construction projects reflect overbuilding by developers, a key cause of the recession.

Many nice houses can be found on the shores on the river "CHAYO PRAYA" and its numerous canals in Bangkok. The best way to discover them is rent a boat and visit slowly Bangkok canals ("KHLONG" - คลอง).
