LAM TSUEN
Situated south of Tai Mo Shan in a valley, Lam Tsuen is surrounded by
green hills and clear small streams. Today, Lam Tsuen spreads over a large area, covering 23 villages.

Lam Tsuen is not a village, but rather an union of the 23 villages scattered
in Lam Tsuen Valley, i.e. 5 indigenous (Punti) villages and 18 Hakka villages.

by red papers with effigies and Chinese writing.

local farmers cultivate vegetables or peach fields.

The hike often continues through a few villages She Shan Tsuen (famous for its
fung shui wood and peach fields), Pak Tin Kong, Ha Tin Liu Ha and Lung Ah Pai.

Chinese houses. Some are in very bad condition.

farmers who moved to cities a few decades ago for better job opportunites.

a lively village as it is near the main road going through Lam
Tsuen valley.

Lung A Pai Village is located at the south of Pak Tin Kong Village. A few
abandoned houses can be found there.

Rent should be quite cheap in Lung A Pai Village.
Remote houses are often surrounded by walls and own some big
projectors to scare or identify potential robbers at nighttime.

Pak Tin Kong Village includes a few houses or shacks in bad state but
the overall village includes modern houses.
