North Point is also called Little Shanghai and Little Fujian of Hong Kong as
a wave of Shanghai people flee to Hong Kong after the founding of the People's
Republic of China in 1949. Most Fujian people arrived in North Point in the late 1950s.
They have adopted the strategy of seeking overseas revenues to complement insufficient income
sources at home.
