The "PLA BEUK" (ปลาบึก) is a big fish that lives in the rivers. Up to 3 meters and with a weight up to 300 kg. The fish can be found in the Mekong river. Since a few years, the fish can now be bred. But once a year, there are still ceremonies in Nan area (north of Thailand) held by Thailand and Laos. This fish is still considered as a spirit. So they must ask the permission before fishing it.
